Only the beginning- 12th man serve notice on Celtic

Celtic fans travelling to Rugby Park on Sunday are being urged to back the 12th Man protest against the clubs board.

Supporters have come together in unprecedented numbers to demand the removal of CEO Michael Nicholson, Peter Lawwell and Chris McKay.

On Sunday the away support are being asked not to take their seats until the 12th minute of the game.

Once in, fans will launch into a full blooded backing of the first team that will leave the players in no doubt we have no quarrel with any of them.

This action is in support of the first team, to ensure we get a CEO that will invest the fans money into the first team.

This protest is to remove a CEO who ignored the requests of our manager and club captain for more quality players in the summer.

Celtics 12th man are acting in order that we be listened to for the first time in years.

Fans pushed into actions

Fans have been forced into this situation, no Celtic fan wants to miss a minute of Sundays match.

Not one word of criticism has been levelled at the first team since the fans anger erupted.

Quite the opposite, we recognise they need quality players in to support them.

These players have delivered us four titles in the last four seasons, a treble including three memorable cup final wins over the Ibrox Tribute Act..

Those victories at Hampden will never be forgotten by all those who partied long into the night to celebrate.

This team gave us our best showing in the Champions League format last season when they squared up to Bayern Munich in the knock out stages.

The established players taking the park on Sunday have delivered for the fans time and time again.

And all the new signings have our 100 per cent support and will be backed and supported at every turn to be successful at Celtic.

A huge step in protesting

Celtic fans recognise all this and are stepping up in support of the first team, to back the calls from Brendan Rodgers and Callum McGregor for quality players to be brought in.

Even at this late stage, the Celtic hierarchy have made no attempt to address the Open Letter endorsed by tens of thousands of supporters.

Zero recognition of what the supporters are asking for.

Of course the club has asked us to part with more cash for the latest adidas range.

The demands on fans from the club never end, that much is a given.

But ask for some answers from the club, ask for some information we know they are sitting on, ask for our support to be acknowledged in any way?

Silence.

The choice is entirely theirs how long this rumbles on.

Complete board inaction

They could have responded to the Open Letter to try and head off Sundays protest.

They still have another two week to engage before our home game against Hibs.

Don’t hold your breath.

But the fans will not stop, this is just the beginning.

We have been ignored long enough, treated with contempt too many times, too many transfer windows have ended with frustrated fans and managers looking on at a depleted first team squad.

Selling players runs very smoothly, trying to buy replacements is now embarrassing.

Sending a message

Everyone going to Rugby Park can send a message to Michael Nicholson by waiting out the first 12 minutes.

Then sing your lungs out for the remaining 78 minutes and back a first team that desperately needs our support after the Celtic board undermined them.

Any damage done to the first team is the result of the board selling off players in the summer, not fans using 12 minutes at rugby park to protest those responsible.

The next transfer window will be no better if we don’t ensure we have a new CEO in place that’s willing to spend the fans money on the reinforcements that are needed.

Sitting out the first 12 minutes on Sunday could be the first step to ensure the fans and manager finally get listened to in the future.
