On the back of the creation of the Celtic Fans Collective there has been a strange but notable reaction online.
Previously they kept their comments to certain Facebook groups and Celtic Quick News, suddenly the pro-board fans are out about spreading and sharing how much they detest Brendan Rodgers.
The manager that delivered 11 domestic trophies out of 13. The manager that took the club to 12 points in the Champions League last season. Five 60,000 sell-out ties. Compare that with the hard sell and discounted prices for the Europa League.
HAPPY-CLAPPERS
Radio Clyde’s Phone-in has always provided an outlet for happy clappers. That element of the Celtic support that thinks staying one point or one step ahead of their O** F*** partners is reason to celebrate. That fans should be forever grateful for avoiding liquidation.
In defence the happy-clappers remind you of the nineties, as if that was the Celtic standard. The worse decade in Celtic’s post war history.
Across social media they are now out in force, almost pushed into overdrive since Monday night.
THAT DESMOND STATEMENT
They have jumped on the statement from Dermot Desmond, possibly the worst comment ever to come from the club.
The angry thoughts of an elderly non-executive director being passed off as club policy.
Anyone close to rational thought realised the seriousness and stupidity of that statement on Monday night.
Managing a club with no proper infrastructure, no Director of Football, no joined up recruitment was a hard enough sell. Throw in an unhinged NED and there is no chance that a credible manager will be appointed to succeed Rodgers.
It’s incredible the amount of pro board replies we’re getting from accounts with 5 or 6 followers that have only recently been set up.
Pretty transparent 🤣

Dormant Twitter accounts seem to have sprung to life.
Here is Colin. He joined Twitter in August 2015 and has 15 followers, he follows 71 accounts on Twitter.
Who would you like to replace this board? Probably some Saudi sugar daddy because that’s what would be needed to fund this fantasy next level.
Or a David Murray type who would risk everything for personal glory and subject us to the misery the gers have.— Colin (@colinmalcolm61) October 30, 2025
Outwith of CQN there is no website or podcast that backs the actions of the Celtic board. Over 40 different fan media groups have signed up to support the Collective.
Fan outlets need an identity and a following. Pushing for an ambitious, progressive club is popular. It is an easy target, outside of Scotland there are many examples. Half a dozen of them are in the Champions League while Celtic toil through Thursday nights.
COLLECTIVE MOMENTUM
The podcasts are a clear asset to the Collective.
Paul John Dykes and Tino Callaghan at ACSOM and The Celtic Exchange are both high profile. Sky Sports News has them on screen regularly. Both are on the Steering Committee, Dykes was at the meeting with Shrugs Nicholson and Chris McKay on October 6.
Increasingly on podcasts the happy-clappers are firing out their contempt for Brendan Rodgers.
He appears to be solely to blame for Celtic’s grim start to the season. Not the Chief Executive hell bent on selling off players, especially goal-scorers. Not the network of obliging messengers trying to destroy the credibility of all post August 2023 signings.
Back in the real world thousands gathered outside Celtic Park ahead of the Falkirk match to show support for the Collective.
There has been no visible backing for the Celtic board. Not a single banner or chant praising Nicholson, Desmond or Lawwell.
REPEATED FAILURES
And yet there are growing comments on-line backing the tired old board. The one that has failed in five successive Champions League qualifiers. There was also Maribor and Malmo in the recent past. Plus AEK Athens, Cluj, Ferencvaros, Midtjylland and now Kairat Almaty.
Many fans will put their anger to one side to indulge in the return of Martin O’Neill. It could well be longer than anticipated.
The Collective and others won’t be distracted. A change of manager or CEO isn’t going to drag Celtic into the 21st century.
COLLECTIVE PROGRESS
No-one in the Collective was expecting a short campaign and quick victory.
Their early success has been incredible. From an open letter on September 3 momentum has been incredible.
The club has ignored a hatchet job on Rodgers in The Sun, sacked the manager, met the Collective and published two incredible statements.
No-one anticipated all that when the PUBLISH button was pressed on that open letter. Seven questions following another horrific transfer window. Another Champions League failure.
The Collective is only gathering their bearings. Bringing varying talents to the table. Forming a plan, ironing out their mechanics, how they operate.
Once that gets underway there will be more casualties at Celtic than Rodgers, the targets are being publicised at every match.

Aye, have had the “ pleasure “ of conversing with a couple of them since Monday. They’re blinded by their hatred of BR and actually think the board are doing ok. Trophies, but trophies 🤦🏼♂️

More narcissistic nonsense from you, time for you and your keyboard to be binned. Like you Rodgers – for all his success – is also a narcissist never his fault always hard done by, it’s me me me. The current demise started way back in February/March culminating with the capitulation to a woeful Aberdeen. From nine league games we had scored twelve goals the football dire with no sign of a change of style or plan b. A change was most certainly needed.
by Bhoy4life
Correct, the current demise did start back then, after the board sold Kyogo before the Bayern game and it was downhill all the way after that.
Either no replacements or sub par replacements.
But I suppose you will be one of the “ but BR spent millions on shite” fans, whilst ignoring the dozen or more cheap buys and loans brought in by the board that have contributed absolutely zero.
If you actually believe BR is to blame for this mess then you must be on the board.

There there petal, run along back to CQN for comforting tales about the brilliance of your executive heroes and how they steered Celtic clear of liquidation. Hurrah for big Peter.
