Michael Nicholson and Dermot Desmond are firmly in the sights of the Celtic support following the abrupt departure of Brendan Rodgers.
As many suspected. Neither the Chief Executive nor the non-executive director are performing the duties expected of someone in those roles.
Desmond’s decision to use the club’s media channels to attack Rodgers revealed his true role at Celtic – the king maker.
Michael Nicholson’s complete absence from the most dramatic night for the club in many a year merely confirms what we all knew. He is no leader. He won’t or can’t make decisions. He does drain a near £1m package in salary and bonus out of Celtic.
He’s not even pretending to be in charge of anything at the club.
AWOL CEO
Manager resigns, Desmond savages him on his way out, and all the while our Chief Executive is nowhere to be seen.
We can only assume he had an early night after his Horlicks while the club went into meltdown on Monday night.
Mondays’ shenanigans was a clear vindication of the tens of thousands of fans who rallied together to form the Celtic Fans Collective.
All our worst fears confirmed.
The summer transfer window was the complete shambles we said it was. Yes, the powers that be at Celtic not only treat us fans with utter contempt, but they disliked the manager almost as much. Now they are recruiting for a manager. To manage their shambles.
Who will be interested in that? Only someone out of work. Or on the media circuit of boredom.
FAILING MISERABLY
What Desmond’s statement actually tells us is that the current set up at the club is failing miserably.
They have the ultimate responsibility for running the club and allowing it to be run so appallingly over the summer is entirely on them.
Had they really believed Rodgers was at fault for the awful summer transfer window they should have taken decisive action there and then.
Done whatever had to be done.
Instead they did nothing. The Nicholson default. He allowed the manager to continue running the first team despite their supposed misgivings.
They allowed him to start the season then resign at a time of his choosing.
EXECUTIVE WEAKNESS
To do that, the board must either not really believe he was the toxic presence they are now claiming him to have been. Or have been too weak to deal with it.
Either way it’s a dreadful dereliction of duties.
They are either lying to us about the manager or were unprepared to act.
Whichever it is, it’s time to go. Real leadership is required at our club.
The Celtic Fans Collective were right all along.

It’s little wonder Desmond and Nicholson both choose to say very little for when they open their mouths disaster strikes.
Nicholson was exposed for the charlatan he is when he was finally forced to answer to the fans for the first time in his four year tenure.
HARMONY AT CELTIC?
We won’t forget that answer claiming harmony between the board and manager anytime soon Michael.
That whopper might actually trump the now famous shrug of the shoulders.
When finally prodded into action, the ever elusive Desmond demonstrated just how dysfunctional the running of the club has become under his ego.
Now is the time to push hard for the change we all said was needed.
The next big push starts tonight with a Collective protest outside the ground before the Falkirk match.
The success of the Collective thus far has been nothing short of astonishing.
Galvanised by what has so far been achieved, it is time to keep pushing forward.

It’s telling that Kennedy walked out with Rodgers.
Kennedy has had opportunities to leave for better paid jobs before but has ended his 27 years at Celtic to leave with no job in the offing, another damning aspect of our disastrous season and empty suited board.
NOT ANOTHER PENNY
by Brendan McHugh
And not a word from the club about Kennedy’s 27 years service.
The man was praised by numerous managers over that time for his coaching abilities and positive impacts on many successful first team squads.
And yet the club allowed him to leave to the sound of his own footsteps.
Then they launch the Christmas cash grab from fans.
Shameful.
