It took a caller to Super Scoreboard on Radio Clyde to call out the many faces of Andy Halliday. There are so many to chose from.
There is the Sky Sports version, or BBC Sportsound/Sportscene or the cheeky lad from Open Goal that revels in any set back for Celtic.
On Monday night nice guy Andy was called out for his performance on Sportsound on Sunday.
Kenny Macintyre was providing group therapy to Halliday, Michael Stewart and Tom English.
Macintyre rarely works on a Sunday but he had opted in for the weekend just past which promised to be very special.
A return to the natural order was anticipated with Derek McInnes’ side sitting at the top of the SPFL Premiership table.
Saturday night would be a Sash Bash at Dens Park followed up by Hearts righting a horrific miscarriage of justice on Sunday afternoon.
CELTIC RUINED THE WEEKEND FOR HALLIDAY
What could possibly go wrong for Halliday and the lads?
Well, just about everything.
Firstly the Govan Galacticos aren’t all that. Manny Fernandez remains a bombscare and that promised £30m transfer for Nicky Raskin remains as elusive as ever.
Plus Celtic have a squad full of attacking options. The midfield might not function, the defence has plenty of question marks but Celtic can score goals.
By the time Halliday got up on Monday morning Celtic were four points clear at the top of the Premiership and 12 goals better off than McInnes’ side.
Not the sort of circumstances to make for a pleasant Monday night on the phone-in.

Celtic barely got a side reference on Sunday Sportsound.
Every aspect of Hearts’ performance was analysed and trashed. It seems that Macintyre, Halliday and chums had fallen for the hype on the back of beating St Mirren 5-0. Prior to that Hearts had taken one point from trips to Falkirk and Kilmarnock. Playing away from Tynecastle is a long running problem.
Celtic’s performance was incidental. Or maybe the Sportsound crew found the league table to be uncomfortable viewing.
AWFUL, PAINFUL VIEWING
Halliday didn’t like it, not a single bit.
He was backtracking just like it was 2018 again and he was faced with Patrick Roberts.
The prospect of another autumn collapse at Ibrox is terrifying the Scottish media.
McInnes should be spared the annual managerial cull but this weekend served as a wake up call for the media messengers.
Celtic’s performance in the defeat to Benfica had only whetted the appetite for the weekend changing of the guard.
This time Halliday was acting the lad. Loving every moment of Celtic’s 4-1 defeat while sharing a sofa with Slaney
@ClydeSSB A lot of the time Andy acts like a complete prick ,celebrating Celtic losing goals is in bad taste watching with his friend slaney ,some pal

BUT WHICH ONE IS THE REAL ANDY HALLIDAY?
Juggling so many media gigs is a tough task. Keeping the same story isn’t easy when you have a different message for each audience.
On Thursday Halliday was revelling in every goal that Celtic lost. Anticipating the effect it would have on the weekend. Kris Boyd and Barry Ferguson were feeling the same.
By the weekend Halliday was back to trying to be responsible, thoughtful pundit. The guy that knows and understands football even though his medal tally consists of one Championship and one Petrofac Cup gong.
He can’t pull it off. The desire to keep on grabbing media payments has become overwhelming.
The real Andy Halliday is of course the lad that appears on Open Goal. Mocking Celtic at every turn.
Any legacy media outlet calling on moderate Andy for this thoughtful opinions on the club he detests are only kidding themselves and their viewers/listeners on.
@ClydeSSB Andy was so one sides in his commentary you would think it was only Hearts playing. Even there the grudged acknowledgement that Celtic had actually played well ( with carefully chosen words through gritted teeth).
Wait til The Rangers 2nd edition beat them next week with a pen.

@ClydeSSB Actually quite funny from Halliday here. There’s a brief second he considers taking the piss out of the boy and either can’t think quick enough or thinks better of it, then proceeds to call him a liar. Decent way of just nailing the boy 😂

@ClydeSSB Tbf bbc Scotland spent more time slagging hearts than given Celtic much credit especially Michael Stewart Both things can be true At same time Celtic were great and hearts poor But after a month of saying Celtic are a club in crisis I don’t think they wanted to give credit 😂

It really is ‘gripping ‘ stuff how Halliday is promoted and used by SMSM bosses on a weekly basis for his very average abilities as a guest on ‘ Sports ‘ programmes in Scotland? There is no distinction in his ‘presentation ‘ from other mostly ex theRangers guests …nothing out of the ordinary from this newcomer ! No style or substance that would make a producer sit up and say ‘we’ve been waiting for this guy for ages ‘ as far as being different and better is concerned ? As I said … it’s ‘gripping !’
