Celtic’s SPFL title win has left Tom English and Ewan Murray devastated.
With Murray it is understandable, he is a Hearts fan, he grew up in the shadow of Albert Kidd which has tainted his life and opinions.
English simply detests Celtic. The only thing he dislikes more is Celtic supporters.
The Chief Sports Writer at BBC Scotland has hitched onto any passing bandwagon in the hope that it will deny Celtic success.
Craig Whyte? Great guy, wealth off the radar, a worthy successor to Sir David. Good times ahead.
Each passing manager is hailed as the Messiah. Whether it is Russell Martin, Micky Beale or Danny Rohl they have the unwavering backing of English. He knows the formula to a career with BBC Scotland, he plays it to perfection.
With Celtic winning the title attention turned to the celebrations of their supporters.
Not for the first time English and Murray were thinking in tandem. The panto horse on the Scottish media circuit.
Both questioning how Celtic fans would react in defeat…
More immediate is how the champions and others will respond to the grim scenes that triggered an enforced conclusion to the visit of Hearts. The behaviour of a section of the Celtic support is so unruly during dominance that one wonders what on earth may happen if the team struggle badly.
Grim?
Really?
Unwelcome and unwanted, certainly un-necessary but grim? Grim is when an opposition manager is attacked in the dug-out area to the cheers and delight of 75% of the stadium.
When the assailant is celebrated with masks of his face on future visits.
CELTIC DELIVER NEVER ENDING PAIN TO TOM ENGLISH
While media apologists explain why the manager assaulted actually brings it on himself. Because of the way that he walks, his style of play from his playing days. Even his hair dye.
All wilfully ignoring the largest elephant in the room.
A very visible Irish Catholic managing Celtic is extremely difficult for a large portion of the Scottish population to be at peace with.
It explains much of English’s behaviour. The self loathing, the complete aversion to all things Celtic, highlighted by his reaction to the return of Brendan Rodgers as manager in June 2023.
Over the weekend following Celtic’s 56th title success English completely lost it.
When you have bombastic opinions just to be controversial, then you can expect some flak.
You have no credibility. None.

His reaction was entirely predictable. With each passing success his anger increases.
Famously it spilled over in 2022 following the death of Shane Warren.
All of Australian mourned that news, Ange Postecoglou managed Celtic at the time.
It takes a special type of low-life to mock anyone showing respect to the dead.
English couldn’t contain himself.
Get your chief sports writer to apologise if he doesn’t then he loses his job. The BBC seem quite happy to employ ex players from a club that cheated Scottish football for years by not paying their taxes.

At least Murray is independently funded. The Guardian pay him to deliver an audience covering golf and Scottish football. He has tried to break into radio but hasn’t cut it.
English drains a salary from the declining number of BBC licence payers. Detached from commercial realities.
The reduced income is kicking in at the BBC. Cutbacks of 10% are being implemented, there is a freeze on recruitment.
CHAMPIONS CELTIC DRIVES DESPAIR THROUGH LEGACY MEDIA
It seems that numbers are going the same way for English as they did at Scotland on Sunday and The Scotsman.
Those cut-backs will be most obvious during the World Cup Finals.
Rather than having 50 pundits, presenters and producers based in Boston almost all of the BBC Scotland coverage will come from Glasgow.
English has never been near a soccer World Cup.
All that he has left is to run down everything Celtic.
With no friends or contacts in the real world he turns to Twitter/X for attention and relevence.
Another long painful summer is in store for the chubby shock-jock of BBC Scotland. Just as it is for his golfing buddy from Gorgie.

Their pain and tears are delicious
Their hatred of everything Celtic oozes from them .
They like all the sycophants in the media are devasted we won the title and on the verge of double
As for the outrage coming from Hearts
Did they care about welfare and security when Neil Lennon was attacked at Tynecastle .
No .
As yet no footage has emerged of any Hearts players being attacked or injured .
It does not excuse our fans who got into the pitch that is a no no
But if it comes to light no players were attacked Hearts have to retract or amend their statement .

After viewing a lot of coverage since we gubbed Satan’s 2nd XI, the ONLY assault i saw was their captain punching/pushing a young boy, there WAS goading from the Celtic fans, is that a crime compared what the Celtic staff had to tolerate at Snake Mountain? I’ve yet to read about any sanctions on Sevco for the derby match trouble.
At Swinecastle we’ve had John Wilson (i think that was his name) attacking Lennon for which he got a slap on the wrist and another two of their hordes trying a swing at Scott Sinclair as he ran by. If there was to be any grounds where fans were to be caged in there are far more reasons for them to be in Govan and Gorgie.

Celtic need to ask why Hearts felt unsafe at Celtic Park. Once they had gone up the tunnel they were in completely secure accommodation, no fans would have stormed the tunnel and reached the dressing rooms. This is just exaggeration by Hearts, looking to add any fuel to the fire, obviously they wont comment on the behaviour of their manager and his bench or players, quite a few who lost control after that second goal.
Besides that Celtic PR must get in front of these stories and not leave it to others to dictate the narrative. We are always behind never and repudiate any slurs against us.

No Celtic fan should be condoning what happened with the pitch invasion. No whataboutery, no excuse that nobody has seen a Hearts player be assaulted.
It simply shouldn’t have happened and should be condemned by all of us.
Not behaving like this is what sets us apart from the neanderthals across the city.
That’s what they do, and we all talk and write about it when they do.
Those Hearts players, harmed or unharmed, musta felt exceptionally vulnerable with thousands swarming around them, knowing none of them were wishing them well.
Let’s not forget how the game was ended either, the ref blowing for time with hundreds on the pitch just to get it over and get outta there.
Hearts deserved better than that no matter the result and what it meant.
Is that really what Celtic fans are all about?
Not in my name thank you very much.
Any fans or forums or blogs condoning that behaviour or making excuses for it is out of order as far as I’m concerned.
In the times we live in that was a highly charged and dangerous situation.
Thank god nobody seems to have been hurt.
It tarnished the whole day, and sitting watching it, u knew that’s all the media needed.

What a lot of (look at me I’m so fair minded) claptrap, get a grip…..if you are able.
