McInnes Pleads For More Ibrox Signings

After adding nine signings to his squad Derek McInnes has warned the Ibrox board that he needs even more new players.

The combined failings of Russell Martin and Danny Rohl sent the Ibrox first team squad reaching towards the 30 mark.

During the close season flops like Jose Cifuetes and Ross McCausland returned from loan deals with Danilo sent out on loan to Botafogo of Brazil.

Three matches into the new season and the new Ibrox boss has been dubbed McWinless.

The pressure is mounting alongside the injuries.

A sore knee in the opening day draw away to Dundee United has ruled out Ben Godfrey.

The defeat against Hibs was a pricey one.

Youssef Chermiti suffered ACL damage and is unlikely to be seen again this season.

Tuur Rommens discovered his third muscle injury since arriving at Ibrox in January for £3m from Belgian side Westerlo.

McInnes had already asked for new signings after each match this season.

There is something missing in the profile of Youssef, but we are clear on what we want and we will work hard to get as close to that as possible.

McInnes looks like the one that is playing with fire as he goes public with his demands for even more new signings.

His job is as manager. To manage a squad of close to 30 players.

With nine new signings he has the bulk of a new team in place. Plus last season’s arrivals. Stars like Manny Fernandez, Lyall Cameron, Chermiti, Djeidi Gassama.

Speculation that Jayden Meghoma could be returning on loan from Brentford has been greeted with despair by Ibrox fans.

Things could be worse. James Tavernier remains a free agent.
