Celtic Fan Survey Calls For Complete Stadium Overhaul

The results of the Celtic Fan Survey have finally been prised out of the hands of Michael Nicholson.

And it’s little wonder it took the formation of the Celtic Fans Collective to force change. For Nicholson to finally acknowledge what the fans are overwhelmingly demanding.

The majority of Celtic fans who attend Celtic Park want to support the team in safe standing sections.

That is a truly staggering amount of our fans asking for change.

And it would require a complete overhaul of the stadium.

CHANGE CAN’T BE DENIED

Despite Nicholson’s best efforts to demonise the Green Brigade with stadium bans, suspended bans, a complete security lockdown on the north curve area – most of our fans want to support the team just like they do in the North Curve.

Times move on and the club have to adapt to those changes.

There was a time when putting seats in the old Jungle would have been unthinkable, until it happened.

Then of course the Jungle itself went to comply with new safety laws.

But we are now in a whole new era, safe standing at Celtic Park has been a huge success. Hence why we now have 47 per cent of our season ticket holders preferring safe standing to seating.

LET THE PEOPLE SING- AND STAND

Of the fans that attend Celtic Park 60% are interested in moving to a safe standing section.

The club must act on this, the tensions between the fans and the over the top stewarding and policing around the North Curve are increasing with every home game.

This security response to the demands of Season Ticket holders simply cannot continue.

It’s little wonder most fans suspected this fan survey would never see the light of day.

It makes very uncomfortable reading for a CEO who can barely conceal his distain for the Green Brigade.

And it adds another very large task to an already large “To Do” list.

  • 1 – Build a relationship with Celtic fans for the first time in four years.
  • 2 – Recruit a new world class manager.
  • 3 – Completely revamp the first team squad.
  • 4 – Confront Dermot Desmond over using club media to launch a personal attack on Brendan Rodgers.
  • 5 – Completely reshape Celtic Park to accommodate 50 per cent safe standing.

All of which amounts to perhaps the biggest overhaul of the club since Fergus McCann got the keys to Celtic Park.

Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay, Brendan Rodgers, Larsson

Is our CEO up to the task?

Of course he isn’t, that’s why he has to go.

There’s nothing on that list that a shrug of the shoulders will fix.

Nicholson was posted missing this week as our manager walked away and Dermot Desmond showed us all just how fragile his Billionaire ego truly is.

Being paid £836,325 a year to run the club and Nicholson is nowhere to be seen when the fan finally gets hit.

Nowhere to be seen when a wealthy Irish shareholder shows up to hire and fire managers and run the clubs media channels, jobs normally carried out by the CEO.

Just what is Nicholson doing for that wage?

ANOTHER COLLECTIVE VICTORY

The release of the Fan Survey marks another great success for the Celtic Fans Collective, only formed a matter of weeks ago.

It was one of the demands in the original open letter that fans rallied around and led to the formation of the Collective.

Another victory for the fans, along with the release of the results of the Fairhurst Inquiry.

Wednesday’s Falkirk match saw thousands of supporters congregate outside the main stand shouting for change.

At the same time as the club superstore lay as quiet as anyone has seen it on a match day.

There are going to be massive changes at Celtic, on and off the pitch.

Thankfully the fans have been ahead of the curve pushing for these changes and we now have the Fans Collective to rally behind.

Once the out of touch directors and executives are finally gone, we have to have proper leadership who understand and represent the fans views.

My concern isn’t increasing safe standing, though I believe it would make the atmosphere even better. My concern is more selfish. I want an increase in capacity to 80k, by rebuilding the main stand. Pleased to hear the rumours of the ceo and chairman stepping down.

    Slainte.

The main stand is long overdue a complete overhaul, cramped seating, poor facilities & food substandard, all this & paying more in relation to other areas of the Stadium
