One of Celtic’s sponsors sent a very raw message of support to the club after they announced that they will be appealing the red card given to Yang Hyun-jun against Hearts at Tynecastle.
Brendan Rodgers went out of his way to highlight how John Beaton on VAR duty had influenced the match with questions about the use of VAR included in Celtic’s 94 word statement.
On Friday Celtic announced that Call Robert Accident Repair Centre will be sponsoring the Player of the Year Event at the Hydro in May with Tony Hamilton and Kyogo Furuhashi taking part in the photo shoot to promote the event and highlight the sponsor.
The Celtic Foundation will benefit from the sponsorship with Hamilton saying:

Turning to the issue of Beaton, Celtic announced:
Celtic Football Club can confirm that it will be appealing the red card issued to Hyunjun Yang during Sunday’s match against Hearts at Tynecastle.
We have also written to the SFA to raise our serious concerns regarding the use of VAR and the decisions made within the match.
As we have said before, for some time Celtic has sought to work with the footballing authorities with the aim of improving standards associated with refereeing and the use of VAR in Scotland, something which is clearly in the wider interests of everyone within the game.
The next step will be the SFA arranging an appeal hearing which is likely to take place this week, Yang will be suspended for the SPFL match at home to St Johnstone on March 16 and possibly one other depending on the report from Robertson.
Since the match referee initially deemed the foul as a booking offence there are definite grounds to appeal which will involve the incident being reviewed by a three man panel.
Celtic can point to many similar incidents with one as recently as the previous week when Motherwell’s Theo Bair escaped without any punishment for a head high challenge on Daizen Maeda.
One problem for the appeal could be the comments of Michael Nicholson at the Celtic AGM in November, when one shareholder questioned the CEO about decisions made against St Mirren in a match refereed by Beaton the reply given was ‘Penalty Rangers’.
