BBC Scotland are refusing to cover an Ibrox fan being charged with assault on a Celtic staff member.
Marc Spence appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court today but the state broadcaster refused to report on the charges.
STV, Glasgow Times and The Sun all covered the court appearance but it seems that the incident doesn’t suit the agendas of BBC Scotland.
The state broadcaster has a massive presence in the USA covering the World Cup. BBC Scotland still has more staff at Pacific Quay than STV, the Scottish Sun and the Glasgow Times combined.
BBC Scotland has of course given extensive coverage to the phantom assaults on Hearts players by Celtic fans.
BROADCASTER PLUNGED INTO WEEKS OF MOURNING
Pat Nevin led the charge with Andy Halliday, Ryan Stevenson and Allan Preston playing key supporting roles.
Supposed trained journalists Kenny Macintyre and Tom English didn’t challenge the claims or even drop in the word alleged.
Such was their misery at Celtic winning the SPFL title that BBC Scotland were happy to run with anything deflecting from Celtic’s success.

At the time Spence was a coach for Glenbuck & Douglas Valley Football Academy.
The clips and images of Spence were widely available across social media. The club created a poll for parents to vote on whether Spence should remain as a coach!
Incredibly there were people at the club that found it acceptable for 47-year-old coach to attack someone on the pitch at Ibrox after sitting through more than two hours of football.
HOW OTHERS FACTUALLY REPORTED THE COURT APPEARANCE
Today The Sun reported:
Former youth football coach Spence has now faced allegations of assault and breach of the peace following a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court. There are no further details of the alleged crimes at this time.
STV reported:
A youth football coach has appeared in court charged with assault after a Rangers and Celtic Scottish Cup match.
Marc Spence, 47, had been held by police on the pitch moments after the final whistle of the Ibrox quarter-final clash on March 8.
Celtic went on to complete a league and cup double after beating Rangers on penalties.
A number of fans invaded the pitch before violence broke out, resulting in police officers, supporters, members of the coaching staff, and players being assaulted.
Spence faced allegations of assault and breach of the peace following a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
No further details of the alleged crimes have been shared so far.
Spence, of Douglas, Lanarkshire, made no plea and was granted bail.
BBC Scotland didn’t want to know.
BBC SCOTLAND- STATE CENSORSHIP IN ACTION
Among the news stories on the Glasgow & West page are ‘House price sales in Scotland hit record levels’ and ‘Reports warns of ‘slowdown’ in Scotland’s rural land market.
Clearly BBC Scotland has taken the decision that there are more important matters to cover. A Celtic staff member being assaulted on the pitch as Ibrox doesn’t reach the threshold.
Spence was detained straight away by Police Officers on the pitch. He was quickly surrounded by Celtic players that came to the aid of a member of their medical staff.
After Celtic’s Scottish Cup win at Ibrox BBC Scotland were in full deflection mode as they avoided a brilliant victory for a seriously under strength Celtic side.
Martin O’Neill was so short of options that he had to put Joel Mvuka on after 79 minutes. It was the second and final appearance of the on loan winger.
Both sets of supporters were bundled together as the media opted away from covering the facts.
Between 50 and 100 Celtic fans were on the track-side and penalty area after Tomas Cvancara scored the decisive penalty.
DEFLECT AND DENY- THE BBC WAY
As they were going off the pitch fans from three sides of Ibrox decided to get on the pitch with one intention- to confront the celebrating fans in the Broomloan Road Stand.
It wasn’t led by the Union Bears. Fans of all ages were on the pitch, attacking Police Officers and club stewards.
The Police attempted to form a barrier on the 18 yard line in front of the Broomloan Road Stand.
A flare was fired into the Celtic supporters. Fortunately they responded with songs of celebrations.
BBC are supposed to be an impartial broadcaster that brings the truth rather than delivering news tailored towards a commercial audience.
That has long been abandoned in Scotland as they pander to a decreasing demographic which mirrors the personal views of their own staff.
Typical of the morals of BBC Scotland is the decision to pay the manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv as a pundit on Scotland matches.
