Negligence, incompetence, arrogance and vindictiveness- Celtic directors brilliantly called out

Less than three months on from a disastrous transfer window the Celtic board face a couple of hours of accountability on Friday morning.

The 2025 AGM will result in all of their motions being supported. The two constructive motions put forward by the Celtic Trust will be arrogantly voted down.

Chairman Lawwell will get his way. The company will be able to sign everything off but the damage inflicted by shareholders will be vast.

Tonight the North Curve/Green Brigade issued a devastating tweet. It piggy-backed brilliantly onto the work put in this week by the Celtic Fans Collective.

COMMUNICATION CONTRAST

When it comes to communications there has only been one winner. Driven by amateurs, fuelled by enthusiasm the Collective, Green Brigade and Trust have handed the Board a lesson and much more.

Everything from the Collective has been concise, targeted and accurate.

Unlike the board. On Tuesday they threatened more punishments on the back on one assault. That assault turns out to be an alleged breach of the peace.

Any smart organisation would have operated on egg shells in the period leading up to a potentially difficult AGM. Perhaps offering a few concessions and gimmicks to take the sting out.

Not Celtic. Oh no.

Even with the distraction of an international break they opted to wade into the customers. A few jabs, a few reminders of where the entitled customers are in their priorities.

NOT ANOTHER PENNY

There was a new Adidas launch to sweeten some of them up. In the background Not Another Penny is hurting deeply. Every day, every hour. The tills aren’t ticking as they used to do.

Hopefully the Adidas Account Manager is making regular calls and demands. The Golden Goose is no longer flocking to donate money.

Goodwill has been abandoned. There was a time when many fans would pay extra for the latest strip to buy it from the club store. Give money directly to the club at their own cost.

That stage is long past. Nike is experiencing a little boost in sales. Some fans are now going the extra mile to avoid brands associated with Lawwell, Nicholson and McKay.

After the failings of the transfer window the Celtic board has set off on an incredible chain of events to antagonise supporters.

It is almost as if they have been on a mission to build the Collective.

A critical open letter led by the Green Brigade and backed by 100 different supporter organisations was published on September 3.

Two days later senior figures inside the club briefed David, a friend of Roger Hannah that Brendan Rodgers was to blame for everything.

On September 6 Celtic published an incredible Saturday 8.42pm statement.

As well as Rodgers the world had conspired against Michael Nicholson. There was UEFA Financial Sustainability and half a dozen other issues to blame for failure. Nothing in-house, Celtic were still world class in everything they do.

THAT STATEMENT

Fans were shocked by the September 6 statement. A public meeting was held on September 10, on September 20 the Celtic Fans Collective was named.

On October 6 a meeting was held with the club. It seemed lopsided to have 20 supporters present but each of them was shocked by what they discovered about corporate Celtic. An executive elite over-dosed in their own brilliance.

The Collective were told that group stage European football was success. Five successive failures to qualify for the Champions League wasn’t failure.

Transfer activity was difficult. Incredibly German and Belgian tax issues thwarted Celtic ‘s transfer activity.

The Collective were completely out of step. Celtic was a modern vibrant organisation, using cutting edge technology. It was incredible stuff, arrogance squared.

SCORCHED EARTH

Asked the explain why the manager referred to ‘club signings’ Nicholson shrugged his shoulders. As noted by the agreed joint minutes. Published four days after the meeting.

And so it continued.

In the last month alone Celtic have lost a manager and declared war on supporters through the Green Brigade.

They could have ridden most things out hiding behind Martin O’Neill. The gags, tracksuit and nostalgia.

But still the scorched earth policy has continued, or been accelerated. Even Dermot Desmond joined in.

The AGM will be uncomfortable. As someone once mentioned ‘this isn’t the end, it is only beginning’.
