Some tennis balls bounced on some publicly owned land in Fife on Saturday. Naturally it was the fault of pesky Celtic ultras and malcontents.
It’s worth baring in mind that it was public ground when you consider the consequences of those bouncing tennis balls.
Was it as dramatic an event as a lit flare being launched into a stand packed full of Celtic fans?
Obviously not.
It wasn’t nearly as profound an event as a once proud football club failing yet again to even qualify for the European trophy that defines said football club.
And it certainly didn’t rank as notable an event as the entire Celtic support being wrongly branded violent thugs by the entire mainstream media.
Nowhere near as consequential as Martin O’Neill publicly questioning his ability to continue managing the Celtic first team.
ZERO TOLLERANCE ON ONE ISSUE AT CELTIC
The difference between all these events of course is that those tennis balls landed near a certain wealthy retired golfer who own shares in Celtic.
And that just will not be tolerated in the Celtic boardroom. That requires a statement.
Bottles can crack the heads of Celtic fans and staff and the club can sink to the position of European also rans and the Celtic board and executive have not one single word to say.
But if Dermot Desmond’s round of golf is disrupted for a just a few minutes – hell hath no fury.
The Fans Collective have been struck off the non existent list of fan groups Celtic are willing to talk to.
Threats to season tickets were issued along with a lot of angry words that read like it had been barked down the phone from the Road Hole Bar at the Old Course Hotel.
And just like that we had confirmation of what Celtic fans had suspected all along – the club is being run by one man and one man only.
And he really did mean it when he proudly proclaimed that he would happily ignore the advice of a million people.

THE £17,000 A WEEK EMPTY SUIT AS CELTIC CEO
Protesting Michael Nicholson for his running of the club is a pointless exercise at this point.
He runs nothing at Celtic.
But he certainly should be held to account for plundering the fans money to the tune of almost £1 million per year when he is merely a patsy for the man who made him a multi-millionaire.
Similarly Brian Wilson, he took over public facing duties last season when it became too much of a stretch for anyone to take Nicholson seriously.
If his self proclaimed commitment to achieving unity at Celtic was still believed by anyone then the Saturday night statement killed that notion stone dead.
Not that Chairman Wilson has the authority to actually do anything at Celtic unless he’s been told to do so by the retired golfer who handed him his £80,000 per year position.
The vitriol aimed at us supporters in that statement sets the tone that trickles right down through the ranks of everyone on the gravy train at Celtic Park.
@g_dogg67 Fact is, if the @CelticFC AGM was the day after this golf tournament, less than an hour from Glasgow, he still wouldn’t be there.
Why?
Why can’t he be arsed to attend?
The club is run as a dictatorship.
Time for change.

THE CLASS SYSTEM IN PLACE AT CELTIC
The sheer hatred for ordinary working class Celtic fans flows downwards from the very top of the club.
It flows right down through the St Aloysuis Old Boys network that makes up the middle management at the club.
And the end result is felt on the concourses near the North Curve where police officers have already been observed this season manhandling 15-year-old supporters and trying to carry out illegal searches for a “valid ticket”.
The crime they are investigating?
Being part of a support that dares to question the Billionaire who tolerates zero criticism.
And it’s about to get much worse as a result of those pesky tennis balls bouncing on public land close to the retired golfer.
PAYING THE PRICE FOR EXECUTIVE ANGER
Last season 250 season tickets were banned for the majority of the season for a wide variety of reasons ranging from running onto the concourse to lies about the Safety Advisory Group raising objections.
Rough cost of that peak of anger is around £100,000, more cash than Michael Nicholson can approve on his own.
And that was just because of a few chants and banners and card displays.
This time round the man who must never be questioned has been slightly inconvenienced on a golf course for a few minutes – and that sets off the big alarm bells in the Celtic boardroom.
Added to that we now have Celtic’s most successful living manager due to reappear on the scene.
Brendan Rodgers is now looming large over the retired golfer and on the face of it Rodgers has nothing holding him back.
Should Rodgers choose to lift the lid on his time at Celtic it could make the retired golfer crave the heady days of only having to deal with those pesky tennis balls.
But in the meantime us Celtic fans are sure to feel the wrath of a boardroom desperate to punish anyone who even looks capable of questioning the man who failed to make the cut for the final round at St Andrews at the weekend.
