Celtic Fans Collective march to the scene of Ross Desmond’s pathetic attack

The Celtic Fans Collective have responded to Ross Desmond’s angry attack on Celtic supporters in the perfect way.

By taking the moral high ground.

Rather than responding in kind with anger, the Collective have arranged to bring Celtic fans together at St Mary’s in the Calton. Where the club was formed.

FOOD DRIVE

Fans will then march to Celtic Park for the Hearts game, stopping off en route to support this year’s Green Brigade food drive.

Both groups of Celtic Ultras have been on the front line since the Collective was formed back in September.

And the Green Brigade have paid a heavy price for their activism. Season Tickets being suspended and away tickets denied.

Doors have been kicked in and arrests made by Mark Hargreaves’ former employer.

SFA, Celtic CollectiveSunday’s march from the Calton will give us fans the chance to demonstrate what Celtic is really all about.

Anyone who thinks labelling someone Anti-Establishment is a criticism has no business being a “custodian” of Celtic FC.

EXECUTIVE DISTRESS

Someone should tell Desmond Senior and Junior that we Celtic fans wear that tag as a badge of honour.

Just as our founders did.

A CEO who shrugs his shoulders at fans and remains silent when shareholders demand answers at an AGM is completely out of his depth and is failing the supporters. Failing shareholders.

Anyone who chooses to ignore a video of a young Celtic fan being swung by the neck by a Celtic steward twice his height has no place anywhere near our club.

The other stewards who watched on and did nothing should also hang their heads in shame. Not a word has been heard from Celtic on that incident.

MARK HARGREAVES

Similarly, spending your entire career working for an institutionally racist organisation such as Police Scotland should disqualify you from working at our club.

We all know who is responsible for the disgraceful security crack down on all fans anywhere near the north curve area.

Time to go Mark Hargreaves, your choice of career goes against the core values of Celtic FC. Your low profile arrival confirms that even Nicholson is uncomfortable with your employment.

A chairman who responds to justifiably angry shareholders at an AGM with instructions to “behave” has long outstayed his welcome. He hasn’t even bothered attending an away match this season.

CALTON CLUB

On Sunday while real Celtic fans will be gathering in the Calton where our club was formed to feed the poor, millionaire club executives, board members and hangers on will be enjoying fine dining in the executive lounges.

Their inflated salaries are all paid from revenues raised from our predominantly work class support. With so much left over HMRC were paid £11.5m in Corporation Tax.

As they dine, the Green Brigade will be out in big numbers despite being banned from the match to collect food parcels for society’s worst off.

Surely there can’t ever have been a bigger gulf between us ordinary supporters and the clubs “custodians”. Created entirely from within.

Celtic fans are being urged to congregate at St Mary’s in the Calton at 1.15pm on Sunday for the march to Celtic Park.

Leave the anger to the poor little rich boy and instead celebrate all that’s good about Celtic.

A People And A Cause.

NOT ANOTHER PENNY

Meanwhile there is growing anecdotal evidence of the success of the first campaign launched by the Collective.

It seems that the tills at the Celtic stores weren’t ringing merrily over the weekend.

With Black Friday sales on offer shopping centres and malls across the country were busier than expected. Except in the Celtic stores.

‘Like a midweek in October’ was one of the references heard as staff waited to be swept off their feet by demand for this week’s Adidas launch.

Celtic get daily reports from all of their stores as well as from online sales.

Normally social media would be full of fans rushing to buy Adidas kit, showing off the images of the latest £90 trainers or £120 elite hoodie.

There is little evidence of fans wearing new Adidas merch to matches, reducing the clubs second most important income stream.

Celtic have been taking out increased advertising online and on radio to promote their stores but there seems no appetite among fans to boost profits while Michael Nicholson weakens the team.

It looks like there will be some very deep January sales as the club pays the price for their arrogant approach to entitled customers. And Ross Desmond’s attack on those anti-establishment fans that refuse to behave.
