While the Green Brigade were preparing a tifo to celebrate the lives of two club legends, the Celtic board were readying a three match suspended ban for the Ultras group.
For waving flags at Celtic Park almost two tears ago.
Discontent with what the Celtic board have served up this summer has been growing.
Brendan Rodgers used his recent press conference to send a message to the board – back him in the transfer market now if you want him to remain beyond the expiry of his contract next summer.
The manager was voicing the frustration the fans have been feeling as the lack of new signings has continued all summer.
And the response from within Celtic Park?
A reported suspended three match ban for the Green Brigade who have spent recent weeks preparing a fitting tribute to mark the recent loss of Lisbon Lions John Clark and John Fallon.
Documentary film maker Liam O’Hare posted on X
This is what Celtic has described as a one of the serious safety and security breaches. The other incident involved pyrotechnics. https://t.co/PA052E6soA

This is a frankly bizarre move.
Reminiscent of the Bernard Higgins fiasco which almost derailed the momentum that was building for Ange Postecoglu’s exciting new team back in 2021.
Out of touch then, out of touch now.
Make no mistake, the media tide is turning on Gaza and the unbearable suffering its residents have endured for almost two years now.
Israeli scholars are calling it genocide, right wing media who previously supported the Israeli actions, or turned a blind eye to tens of thousands of dead children, are desperately trying to save face and are belatedly calling out the devastation of Gaza.
The Green Brigade will be on the right side of history when it comes to Gaza.
Every Celtic fan who showed their support for the Palestinian people should feel proud, and vindicated.
And yet the powers that be at Celtic Park have chosen to revisit an October 2023 Champions League tie and sanction the group. On that night, the Green Brigade handed out free Palestinian flags to supporters who wanted them and larger flags were displayed around sections of the lower tier.
At that time, the Green Brigade were very much swimming against the tide, now they are vindicated.
So what is behind this latest move against the Ultas group?
It is believed the club have had no dialogue with the Green Brigade since late 2023.
We still await the results of the 2024 fan survey which the club conducted and many believe contains support for the expanding the rail seating installed in the North Curve at Celtic Park in 2016.
And the third party investigation into Celtic fans being kettled on leaving the London Road Social Club in March of this year?
Silence on all fronts, not one word.
Indeed we only know about the suspended ban on the Green Brigade thanks to O’Hare’s tweet.
Celtic’s policy of outright hostility towards the Green Brigade and lack of communication with Celtic fans in general cannot continue.
Despite what some say, the Green Brigade have never claimed to be better than any other fans. Their dedication to providing the team with a lively, vibrant support is there for all to see.
You wont find their members bragging across social media about what they do.
It’s time for the Club to speak up and let the fans know what the plan is for the future.
It’s time to tell us how they intend to spend the tens of millions of pounds of our money they are sitting on.
And it’s time to stop punishing the Green Brigade.
They dedicate their time and talents into supporting Celtic and ask for nothing in return, unlike some.

The board only care about the money , they don’t care about any moral crisis anywhere in the world , the celtic fans mostly do care , the only way they will change is if the fans stop spending that will draw their attention that’s the only thing money and nothing else

Your absolutely bang on about both. The Board are a complete bunch of Parasites, taking all their Freebies and give nothing back. Completely have no Respect for Fans or GB, who support and follow the team all over Scotland and Europe paid for out of their own pocket.
Also buying Merchandise from the superstore. we should boycott cup games where we buy tickets and not on Season Ticket

Because the board are a shower of tory b**tards

The Tory board will be taking their lead from Police Scotland, who have the Green Brigade classified as some sort of terrorist organisation. Kettling Celtic fans, while watching Rangers shirt clad neo nazis attacking immigrants in George Square. But then these fascists are the foot soldiers of our right wing political establishment, required to respond to the politicians dog whistles, and as such a protected group.

Let’s face it…it costs the club money, and our board hate parting with money.
Plus…given that it looks like the board are out to remove brendan, the removal of the brigade serves two purposes.
1….it lessens the atmosphere within paradise…very quiet at times when they sont around.. as previously seen.
2…it lessens the chance of protest during the last few weeks of the window…
Our board are money men and politicians….and their demands that Palestinian flags aren’t flown is them removing your democratic right and freedom of expression
When the board announced an independent report.on the Kettleling incident, u said at time…board playing for ti.e and hope it’s pushed aside.
We don’t have a board focused on whayd best for the club…they are only interested In making money
Board out

Hi Brendan
As a Celtic supporter for over 60 years there is no place in football for politics. If members of the GB have emotional or political issues to speak up about in public then George Square or any other public venue is the place to go and fly whatever flag they wish. If 15000 fans fligh Palestinian flags 15000 Israeli flags 15000 Russian flags and 15000 Ukrainian flags what’s the point in me paying good money to supposedly come to Parkhead to be entertained to watch a football match but instead I get bombarded with political demonstrations that I either agree with or don’t but certainly don’t want to pay money to see.
Or maybe we should leave the fans in the stadium and have the game at George square

You may be a supporter for 60 years but you certainly don’t know your history. What happened with the 1968 European Cup tie against Ferencvaros?
