Todd Cantwell has been offered to Italian side Lecce after his agent sent a message to the wrong Instagram account!
Almost everyone has sent a text, WhatsApp message or email to the wrong person at some stage with only WhatsApp offering the magic DELETE function.
Signed by Micky Beale in January 2023 it quickly became clear that there was no place for the former Norwich City starlet in the Phil Clement Revolution!
A refusal to follow instructions alongside an addiction to self pity on social media was never going to look good after A Proper Football Manager took over from the Brains Behind Beale.
In November TikTok was replaced by Ross McCausland after 35 minutes at home to ARIS Limassol, in May he was left on the bench against Celtic as Kemar Roofe, Nicky Raskin and Scott Wright were sent on to turn the match.
Ahead of the Scottish Cup Final defeat Cantwell was sharing shushburgers to his Instagram followers, after the game at Hampden he felt the heat of Clement’s hands on his neck as he played to the gallery with a protest to the match officials.

Picking up today’s hilarious leak Football Italia reveals:
Former Liverpool defender José Enrique, now a football agent, has offered two players, including Rangers’ Todd Cantwell, to Lecce coach Luca Gotti but accidentally sent the message to the wrong Instagram account.
Rangers’ attacking midfielder Todd Cantwell and ex-Sassuolo loanee Marcus Pedersen have been offered to Lecce coach Gotti by the players’ agent José Enrique, a former Liverpool defender.
The trouble is that Gotti didn’t receive the message from José Enrique because the former Spanish defender sent it to an Instagram fan page dedicated to the Italian tactician, called ‘Luca Gotti reacts.’
José Enrique sent the players’ Transfermarkt pages, saying that both Cantwell and Pedersen could be of interest to the Lecce coach.
Pedersen has returned to Feyenoord after a one-year spell at Sassuolo, while Cantwell scored five goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances in the Scottish Premiership in 2023-24.
Gotti has recently made headlines in Italy, as Lecce director Pantaleo Corvino revealed he hired the Italian tactician this past March after he saved his life by helping him escape a burning hotel.
Gotti also helped Lecce secure Serie A survival last season and has therefore extended his contract at the Stadio Via Del Mare until June 2026.
Norwich were desperate to get rid of Cantwell in January 2023 to save on a few months of salary payments.
A loan stint at Bournemouth had ended in failure, with no interest from English clubs a deal was quickly agreed with Beale who had stared into Cantwell’s eyes to ensure that he was the right type of signing.
Now it seems that Clement is in a similar position with word going out to agents that he is looking to cut the squad size and reduce the wage bill.
Cantwell is under contract at Ibrox until May 2026, like John Lundstram, Kemar Roofe and others he’ll only be moving if his current salary is at least matched, it is unlikely that Lecce will be offering anything close to £30,000 a week.

Maybe it’s his agent that he should be directing those shushburgers to.
