‘Tough loving’ Cantwell under fire as angry bears react to his Shush Burger!

Quite clearly reading the room isn’t one of Todd Cantwell’s limited qualities.

The self-obsessed superstar has been on thin ice with angry bears over the last month as they finally grow tired of his failure to produce on the football pitch while ridiculously pushing himself as a celebrity on social media.

More than a year ago Celtic fans dubbed him TikTok, finally it seems that the penny has dropped with the Gullible & Deluded seeing through the former Norwich City starlet.

Over the last 10 days the mood among the bears has changed. There was virtually no expectations going into the so-called title decider at Celtic Park, while the media tried their best to hype up the showdown most bears chucked in the towel long before John Lundstram followed up his own goal with a red card.

Celtic fans waited for an incredible backlash on Super Scoreboard two days later, there was barely a whimper of dissent with most bears resigning themselves to being second best in a two horse race.

The antics of Cantwell and Fabio Silva have had a draining effect, the only decent aspect about January’s £35m signing is that he is returning to Wolves next week, with Cantwell they are lumbered with Micky Beale’s golden boy.

Badge kissing after a freak goal against Dundee didn’t go down well but there was still scope for things to get worse, much worse.

Scoring against Hearts was fine, a little celebration tolerated but delivering a Shushburger 48 hours later celebrating his part in a 3-3 draw while Celtic players were picking up their latest winners medals has infuriated bears sick and tired with another season of failure.

Humility and modesty are completely alien to TikTok, not even being rejected by every EPL club as a free agent last January has impacted on his bloated sense of self-worth.

The ridicule of Celtic fans had earned him some kudos among the staunchest of bears but they have now come round to the idea that there is no substance to the Poundland Jack Grealish.

All the celebrity trimmings fail to cover up for a lack of ability and impact on the park, Cantwell has taken them for a ride. Denying Reo Hatate a water bottle was cheered by the bears while the Celtic midfielder waltzed to a clean sweep of domestic honours.

At training this morning the Cantwell issue is just another of many for Phil Clement to deal with as he prepares for the Scottish Cup Final.

Online fans are slaughtering James Tavernier, the Hall of Famer that will wear the armband on Saturday, walking out side by side with serial winner Callum McGregor.

Beyond Jack Butland and Dujon Sterling there is nothing but contempt for Clement’s squad with his dilemma summed up by having to choose between Cantwell and John Lundstram for the battle against Hatate, McGregor and Matt O’Riley!
