James Forrest is back in the Celtic side at Dundee today, starting his first match since November.
The 32-year-old came off the bench to score almost instantly against Aberdeen last Saturday at Hampden and replaces the Korean in the Starting XI at Dens Park this afternoon.
Over the last few matches Forrest has become an increasingly influential substitute but today it looks like Brendan Rodgers will play him from the start on the left wing.
An injury to Daizen Maeda at Ibrox on April 7 has made a big impact on the Celtic squad, Yang has started the last two matches but plays in a very different style to the Japanese internationalist.
After starting against St Mirren and Aberdeen to little effect Yang will make way for the more dependable Forrest who is chasing his 12th SPFL title winners medal.
In the first post split fixture today no-one at Celtic will be taking anything for granted despite the 13-1 aggregate against Dundee so far this season.
Tellingly in the first two matches it was goal-less at half-time while in the most recent match Celtic went in 6-0 up at the break.
Back in the top flight Dundee have exceeded expectations, easing Aberdeen and Hibs aside to claim a place in the top six with three points to make up on St Mirren to earn a place in the Europa Conference qualifiers.
Tony Docherty will have to watch his side from the stand today, in his first season going solo he has stood tall with steady performances although their recent form isn’t that impressive despite the 0-0 draw at home to Phil Clement’s side.
A top six place was three points away when they led Motherwell 2-0 at home after 70 minutes but lost three goals from the 79th minute to shred the nerves of their fans.
The following week a 0-0 draw away at Aberdeen clinched their top six place while Motherwell and Hibs drew 1-1 at Fir Park.
Team news will be confirmed at 1.45 today with Forrest for Yang the only change to the side that started at Hampden last Saturday.
