Justin the Drama Queen left Ibrox last night as soon as VAR confirmed that there was no offside call against Fernandes Ferreira da Silva when he popped the ball past Jack Butland in the 66th minute of last night’s Europa League thriller.
Since the freak win away to Real Betis in December most bears have been convinced that Philippe Clement was leading them to Dublin in May to lift a trophy. Most bears trusted Keith Jackson when he told them about a billionaire with wealth off the radar.
Last week’s 2-2 draw with Benfica was another sign for Justin and the bears that they were destined for glory with a surge in Dublin hotel booking in late May reported from Scottish addresses.
Even seeing a team sheet that includes serial losers alongside John Lundstram and Cyriel Dessers failed to steer the Gullible towards a little reality, when Steven McLean came to the rescue against Hibs the quadruple became a step closer. Until last night.
😯 “I left the game as soon as the goal went in!”
🫣 “I couldn’t deal with it anymore, this was literally the most frustrating game I have ever watched at Ibrox”

There were some early warning for the home fans with Ally McCoist amazed at the tactics deployed by the Belgian magician. At every corner kick all of the outfield players were deployed deep into the Benfica half. It was as if Clement thought that it was the only way that his team would score a goal.
Benfica threatened a few times on the break, Lundstram and Ridvan Yilmaz were falling over themselves as they attempted to pass the ball but at the interval the match was goal-less.
All that was needed was another classic freaky Ibrox goal, two Benfica defenders running into each other or the keeper chucking one in, it has almost become part of the European ritual at Ibrox.
But not this time.
Midway through the second half Benfica broke at pace, the timing was perfect as da Silva set off from his own half towards goal, leaving defenders stranded or on their backside before planting his shot past Jack Butland.
The assistant referee raised his flag, Justin held on for the VAR check, when the goal was confirmed he was off, walking away from his team with 25 minutes left to play when every fan had a part to play in getting the team to Dublin.
Not content with walking away, Justin was on the phone to Super Scoreboard where Gordon Duncan was hosting a therapy session with Mark Wilson and Gordon Dalziel.
Justin poured out his agony and pain on the airwaves, his team were on their way out of the Europa League with Mister Clement responsible for back to back defeats, a sequence that Micky Beale avoided during his memorable 10 months in charge at Ibrox.

Why are so many rangers fans saying this isn’t true. Your own manager pleaded with fans to stay to the end and couple of weeks ago! Walking away is what rangers fans do!
