It seems that Celtic’s proposed pre-season friendly with Wolves could go ahead with a few major changes!
Rather than playing in South Korea on July 26 the two clubs could be meeting in Dublin on Saturday July 31.
Last week Wolves announced that issues with the organisers had forced them to call off their planned two match trip to South Korea, on Monday Celtic gave up on finding replacement opponents for the Wolves game.
Celtic will play in Japan on July 19 and 22 but the postponement of their match in South Korea leaves a big gap in the schedule before the James Forrest Testimonial on August 1 at home to Athletic Bilbao.
Fixtures can’t just be thrown up but the Aviva Stadium is free over the last weekend of July presenting Celtic and Wolves with a neutral venue and the chance to test themselves with a bit of pressure in front of their own fans.
Dublin can be pricey but it is day-trip territory for thousands of fans, as a bonus the Aviva is already gearing up for a friendly between Manchester United and Athletic Bilbao on August 6, the day after a rugby international between Ireland and Italy.
Rumour the planned South Korean game against Wolves will now take place in Dublin.
