Michael Nicholson has opened a new era of openness and communication at Celtic with a secret masonic style meeting.
The Celtic CEO skipped Sunday’s match at Falkirk but fronted a meeting in Greenock in front of 120 specially selected fans.
And how do we know this?
Thanks to the person behind the Brother Walf X account which uses the name @EuropeanSuper17.
In 2026 Celtic communications is done through a social media account with under 1,000 followers rather than their £17,000 a week CEO.
Kevin McQuillan, Head of Communication Operations at Celtic was among the delegation in Greenock on Monday night.
McQulllan can be found in the Directors Box at away matches.
For home matches live on television he hangs around the tunnel are inside camera shot.
Celtic are represented on virtually every social media platform.
As is his usual fall-back Nicholson admitted that the club needs to improve communication with fans.
NICHOLSON ON REPEAT OVER COMMUNICATIONS WITH CELTIC SUPPORTERS
He has been pushing that line since attending a Supporters Meeting in October last year. The meeting where he shrugged his shoulders when asked to explain what Brendan Rodgers meant by referring to club signings.
More than a year later mute Mike is using the same lines/excuses.
At a pre-recorded interview at the abandoned 2025 AGM Nicholson repeated the communications line.
Since then Celtic have launched an app and rebranded Celtic TV as Celtic player. One is a money making venture, the other is to sell more things to fans.
This shite is like Downton Abbey ffs. The footmen speaking up for the squires and the butler in full agreement. I’m sure the upper crust will be pleased but it’s all well above the local minions. Let’s write a book and hold a podcast. Way to go 😉

Brother Walf has tried to answer as many questions as possible but is in a difficult position.
The 120 fans present are instantly compromised.
Celtic judged them to be more important than over 50,000 Season Ticket holders.
With his mindset for improved communications with supporters Nicholson decided on a secret meeting.
With details leaking out Celtic decided that they had to react.
At 11.29am the morning after they published a statement on the event.
According to chairman Brian Wilson the questions were hard but fair. Just a pity that we only have Wilson’s word on that. As a former Labour MP only a fool would trust the word of Chairman Wilson.

Almost everything that has leaked from the meeting has been pushed out before.
There was the usual promise of money to spend in January. A favourite of Peter Lawwell, the man that brought all of the current executives to Celtic.
AND OF COURSE YOU CAN ALWAYS BLAME BIG BAD BRENDAN
As ever Brendan Rodgers is a bogeyman.
How dare he deliver 11 domestic trophies out of nine plus 12 Champions League points and a Round of 16 Play Off place. Despite having to battle against a board that treasured the Balance Sheet over the Team Sheet.
Two years ago Celtic were about to beat RB Leipzig to go onto seven Champions League points out of four matches.
Even last year the team has four points from three matches under Rodgers in the Europa League.
On Thursday night Beskitas are Evens Money to win at Celtic Park. Celtic will likely be 35th or 36th in the Europa League table after Matchday 4.
Better communications isn’t going to make that decline look any better. Which is why Nicholson refuses to communicate. The mute CEO hasn’t said a word in public since two December 2025 interviews with Gerry McCulloch sharing his excitement over Wilfried Nancy’s recruitment plans.
Nancy was Nicholson’s number one candidate to succeed Brendan Rodgers. Which explains why his communications are kept secret. It suits everyone at Celtic.

In the spirit of Prince Andrew and Pizza Express, Nicholson and Chris McKay probably left Monday’s meeting thinking that it had went well. That they had successfully got their points across.
The 120 hand picked supporters weren’t allowed follow up questions. Ask a question, get a deflected answer and the promise that the club is working to improve and move on.
NICHOLSON’S TRANSFER STRATEGY CLAIM
Among the more ridiculous of the answers was one about the summer transfer activity. Apparently the defeat to LASK Linz made no impact on the transfer budget.
So Sam Johnstone, Oliver Sorenson and Jordan Lotomoba weren’t plan B, they would have been signed if Celtic had reached the Champions League. Terrifying if true.
With no official record of what was said in Greenock Celtic think that they can manipulate what went on. They can nod through the positive spin such as the January spending plans.
On the contrary.
Those pesky podcasters and bloggers can take anything that they like from the Chinese whispers that have emerged.
The 2026 AGM is three weeks away at the earliest.
Based on the rushed nature of their Greenock event the club executives are terrified of that prospect.
The longer that they put off being held to account the more dangerous the AGM becomes.
The Alternative Investment Market in London will dictate the format of the AGM, not McQuillan, Nicholson, Wilson and the Greenock Enablers.
