The Green Brigade have confirmed their return to their North Curve home this Saturday for the home game against St Mirren.
The announcement represents a staggering climbdown for new security chief Mark Hargreaves who had sought to ban the Ultras over an ever lengthening list of excuses over the past five months.
In the end all the Green Brigade had to agree to was the Season Ticket terms and conditions and to comply with safety and security operations – the same as every other season ticket holder.
Glasgow City Council’s Safety Advisory Group will receive match-by-match reports now that the ban has been lifted.
On Tuesday evening Celtic interim chairman, Brian Wilson said: “I am pleased we have reached this point where suspensions can be lifted with the agreement of Glasgow City Council Safety Advisory Group on terms which apply to supporters throughout the stadium.
“On that basis, a full and united Celtic Park can get behind the team at this crucial point in the season.”
Or to put it another way, the Green Brigade will return to Celtic Park on Saturday under the exact same conditions as the last home game they attended.
The 250 fans who were banned will now receive a full refund for the games they have missed.
All of the fake obstacles and attempts to bring them to heal over the past five months have failed miserably.
The most telling of which was Brian Wilson’s claim last month on that there was a “strong concern from the police about anti-police activities, photographing police, pig watch campaigns and so on within the ground.”
The idea that anyone can be required to forfeit their right to hold public servants such as Police Scotland to account is completely ridiculous.
SHAMEFUL, POINTLESS GREEN BRIGADE BAN IS BINNED
All of the fake reasons that have been trotted out for the ban reek of the same thing – an attempt to stifle and stop the ultras from criticising the club and their treatment from Police Scotland.
Shoot the messengers and ignore the message.

The Green Brigade statement read: “It remains our expectation that all Celtic supporters- including the Green Brigade – must be treated fairly, proportionately and with respect by the Club, its stewards and police officers, particularly when on the footprint of Celtic Park.
“We are satisfied that conditions on lawful supporter expression and conduct towards police officers have been dropped thus proving them to be wholly inappropriate.”
Police Scotland would do well to listen to Celtic fans valid criticisms rather than attempting to silence them, accept that the Offensive Behaviour Bill has long since gone and try to move forward from there.
As for the Celtic board, it must be clear to everyone at the club now that the Nicholson – Hargreaves approach to trying to silence fans has failed miserably this season.
Events on the pitch this season have fully vindicated the criticisms the fans raised at the start of the season about the running of the club, the evidence is there for all to see.
Mark Hargreaves’ heavy handed, high security approach towards home fans has been a complete disaster.

COMPLETE BREAKDOWN OF TRUST
Unsurprisingly, importing Police Scotland’s inherent suspicion and animosity towards Celtic fans into the stewarding set up at Celtic Park has seen a complete breakdown in trust.
It is now entirely the norm for Celtic fans to attend a home game and have zero interactions with anyone other than fellow fans.
Police officers are viewed with suspicion, stewards are to be avoided and no purchases made at any of the club outlets.
This is the reality of Celtic Park this season under a board and executive who actively despise us fans.
Away from the ground we have a silent CEO and a minority shareholder who sends in his quivering son to lambast us “anti-establishment” fans.
There is no relationship left between the fans and the people running the club, we know they hate us, this season has made that perfectly clear.
So while the North Curve is sure to be bouncing this Saturday, if anyone wants to see what it looks like to be bowed and broken, have a look at Mark Hargreaves and Michael Nicholson in the directors box.
The last four home games of this season must represent their last as Celtic employees.
