Nicholson and Hargreaves strengthen their control at Celtic

The Celtic board have signalled their satisfaction with the current running of the club.

And there is zero prospect of any change on the horizon.

Their stewardship of the club this season in particular has been nothing short of disastrous.

Failed transfer windows, a winning manager walking away, fan bans, fan media bans, disastrous managerial appointment – all satisfactory according to chairman Brian Wilson.

Trailing in the league behind a team with a fraction of our spending power – no problem.

£70 million of fans money in the bank and only loan signings coming in – nothing to see here.

The former New Labour politician met with the Celtic Fans Collective on Wednesday with hopes high that someone from the boardroom would finally listen to fans concerns.

But it wasn’t to be.

CARRY ON NICHOLSON- BUNGLING CEO HAS THE FULL BACKING OF CELTIC

The empty suit that is Michael Nicholson will remain in place to recruit our new permanent manager and oversee another transfer window this summer.

The head in the sand policy in the Celtic boardroom remains in place.

Quite how many Season Ticket holders they hope will sign up for another season under CEO Nicholson remains to be seen.

Without Ange Postecoglu to oversee transfers or Brendan Rodgers to work miracles on the training ground, Nicholson’s leadership has been exposed this season.

Badly exposed.

The first team has been asset stripped to the point that fans have been boycotting club merchandise all season in protest.

Rather than face up to the fans demanding to be listened to, Nicholson instead chose to ignore the boycott.

Millions of pounds lost.

Let that be clear. Nicholson would rather the club lost millions of pounds in sales than speak with supporters.

Then hide those loses when the club’s interim results have to be published.

Wilson told the Fans Collective he was satisfied with the way that Nicholson is running of the club.

And he did so fronting up at a meeting that Nicholson should have been attending if he was doing his job properly.

NICHOLSON AND HARGREAVES TAG TEAM ON A MISSION

And if Nicholson remains in place we can assume his schoolyard chum Mark Hargreaves will also remain in place.

For while Nicholson was taking a sledgehammer to Rodgers’ hopes of progress in Europe, Hargreaves launched his bitter attack on fans at the stadium.

The Green Brigade were banned, tickets were required to use the toilets and young fans were seen being swung around by the neck.

The result of Hargreaves’ assault on match day fans is there for all to see – empty seats and deathly silence.

Hargreaves power at the club is such that Chairman Wilson is reduced to asking the former cop to allow certain Season Ticket holders to attend games.

Hargreaves has the power to have the Chairman come crawling to him. And he is able to ignore the pleas of Martin O’Neill and first team players asking for the full backing of the fans.

It would be helpful if someone on the Celtic board could point out one solitary benefit the club gets from the Nicholson Hargreaves partnership.

CELTIC MIMIC CONTROL FREAKS MANDELSON AND CAMPBELL

Just like the majority of his New Labour colleagues, Wilson has shown himself to be someone not to be trusted.

His frequent calls for unity are about as believable as an Alistair Campbell dossier for going to war.

He is as trustworthy as a Peter Mandelson application to become an ambassador.

The people currently in power at Celtic have zero interest in unity and will continue to treat us fans with utter contempt.

They will continue to make horrific appointments to positions of power and oversee embarrassing transfer windows that make the club a laughing stock.

The Celtic Fans Collective met with the board last October to warn them that the club was on the wrong path.

Those concerns were ignored and sadly the fans have been proven right.

Everyone can see that, except the Celtic board of course.

No matter how bad things get on the pitch and in the stands the message from the board remains the same – we know what we’re doing, shut up and give us your money.

Good luck using that message to ask for Season Ticket renewals.

No one takes any lectures from you and your CQN mates on anything.

You and your elderly happy clappers can make the difference in the title race and splash the cash on merch to keep your heroes Michael, Chris and Mark in salaries that they’ll never get near in the future.

The article loses its weight by its SNP bias. The party of Peter Murrell, Alex Salmond, Natalie McGarry, Derek McKay , Maureen Ferrier, Nicola Sturgeon carries no moral imperative.

      No mention of SNP anywhere.

Seems like you are a bit sensitive to highlighting the toxic ways of Mandelson, Blair, Wilson and Campbell. Blood on their hands.

If you want to defend your Better Together heroes that is your call, maybe we’ll get Jim Murphy as our next Chairman?

Hate the way that our club is being damaged by both sides in this argument. The zero tolerance towards our young supporters hab been repugnant and for that heads should role. We have a Safeguarding responsibility to our young supporters. It’s fair to point out that the structure of our Board is lamentable…however we are at the business end of the season and getting behind the team takes presidence

It seems that mentioning Wilson’s political history is sufficient for some people to come out in his defence.
This is Celtic we’re talking about not the Labour Party.
How even the most diehard Labour supporter can think that Wilson and his cronies are doing a good job defies belief.
The evidence is there for all to see. If by some miracle we end the season with a trophy, it will be despite the board’s inadequacies, not because of them of them

i believe there is a large number of fans on the ST waiting list so i do not think a refusal to re-new will be successful at all!!

Seems like the fans on the Waiting List weren’t interested in the Dundee cup tie.

Plenty of tickets available for tonight’s match as well- how surprising is that.

The Waiting List is a much loved club myth, actually it doesn’t exist.

The waiting list myth exists to frighten us into re-newing our season tickets.
Fear of losing your seat, but there comes a point where we must make a stand against these red/blue Tories.
