Celtic have backtracked on a Supporter Update relating to last month’s home match against Falkirk.
On the back of it the entire Green Brigade were given a three match ban from home matches and left out of away match ballots.
It seems that the club has had second thoughts on their communications but at the same time Police Scotland have dusted down their old Offensive Behaviour Act playbook to target Celtic fans again.
In the past the boys in Blue used dawn raids to arrest Celtic fans for such trivial acts as wearing t-shirts and singing songs at football matches.
OFFENSIVE BEHAVIOR ACT
But with the Offensive Behaviour Act now confined to the history books, Police Scotland have decided that front doors need to be smashed in for the minor charge of Breach of the Peace.
That was the terrifying reality that was visited on a family last Thursday in relation to an alleged incident at Celtic Park recently.
In order not to prejudice any future trial, reporting of the alleged incident at the home game against Falkirk is severely restricted now that the case has become active.
COMMUNICATIONS
Astonishingly, and to their shame, as of 25 November the official Celtic website still carries an account of what they categorically state happened that night.
The 7 November “Supporters Update” on the club website contains information that this site could never quote for fear of falling foul of Scotland’s Contempt of Court laws.
Should this case ever makes it to court the sheriff will be studying the 7 November “Supporters Update” very carefully to determine if a fair trial is possible.
Tellingly the November 21 Supporter Update has rephrased it as an incident. Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson is labelled as a leading sports lawyer.

What follows is an account of the raid to arrest the Celtic fan, given by two of his friends when they appeared on the excellent Homebhoys Room 1 on 1 recently.
“One of our boys was arrested, they put in his front door, there was no attempt to ring the door bell or knock on the door, they simply just put it in.
“They went up into his house, arrested him, turned the place upside down.
“His father was in the house, he suffers from COPD and they took his mobile phone as evidence.
“He protested that he has COPD, he’s housebound and he needs that phone for emergencies to contact anyone he needs if he’s unwell.
BREACH OF THE PEACE
“They didn’t care, they took it anyway, they also took another tablet which was the only other means that he could use to contact anybody.
“They took away one of our boys, they charged him with a Breach of the Peace, they carried out a dawn raid, they have put in his door, they have turned his house upside down, they have taken away evidence that is mainly clothes. Clothes that say Green Brigade on it and his fathers mobile phone.
“They have held him for around about an hour, charged him with breach of the peace and then let him go.
“Up at the house his dad is sitting there freezing in his living room behind a wee electric fire, still pretty shaken up from what happened.
“I spoke to his mum and she’s in bits, she’s obviously very emotional, she’s worried about her son who has been arrested.
“She’s worried about her husband who is sitting there, he’s not well, he’s freezing and the front door is missing.”
A chap at the door during daylight hours could have prevented all this trauma.
Perhaps even a phone call requesting attendance at the local police station.
In the past few months Celtic have issued denials that they are colluding with Police Scotland to target Celtic fans.
Last Friday Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson confirmed that the club have recruited Mark Hargreaves from the institutionally racist Police Scotland.
