It’s a proven fact that bad management is a virus that can destroy the best of workplaces. Celtic is no different to any other place of work and just as susceptible to its effects, look at Callum McGregor.
It can poison morale, wreak havoc with productivity and cause all sorts of issues like increased absences and staff disengagement leading to the best walking out and only the stupid left that will put up with it.
I have been critical of players just like most other fans recently, particularly McGregor.
But, after giving more thought to the situation, I’m beginning to think that the drip effect from board level shenanigans absolutely must be having an effect on squad morale. Right into the dressing room.
THE SINKING FEELING
The captain more than any may be feeling this most. McGregor is a Celtic man through and through, he has given his whole career to the club, he wants to win every week as much, if not more than we do. Imagine yourself in his shoes?
Celtic have gone from pushing Bayern Munich all the way, to losing to Dundee for the first time in what? 37yrs or something. In eight months from the Allianz Arena to Dens Park. That’s 10 months! Unbelievable.
I have already said in other posts that Calmac hasn’t played well for months now, but is that actually true?
Could McGregor still actually be functioning at the level we are all accustomed to, but it is the players he has around him now that don’t think or move on the same level as he does? He no longer has a right winger to feed. No Nicolas Kuhn, no Liel Abada, no prime James Forrest.
Has the squad been so diluted with sub standard players that the truly good ones can’t function normally, their skills are stymied?
THE DECLINE IS NO LONGER MANAGED
I get this kinda thing at my work every week. No matter how well you do your bit, there are others that just dismantle every bit of good you do or just can’t work to the same standard you do. Brendan Rodgers talked about Hondas and Ferraris on Sunday.
He’s absolutely bang on, the board have taken a Ferrari, opened up the bonnet and sold off several cylinders and the starter motor, and replaced them with bits out of a Honda. And he’s left to try and get the same horsepower out of it.
This entire shambles is of the boards making. They oversee the sell off of our best players, and at the same time hamstring the manager with sub par replacements whilst assassinating his character behind his back. Is that the kind of people we want representing our club at the highest levels? Backstabbers?
They have sold off every impact player we had, Maeda no doubt will follow, and replaced them with…….nobody basically.
Michel-Ange Balikwisha has shown very little, Sebastian Tounekti has shown flashes but not consistently, same as Ben Nygren. Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to convince me. Moneyball and last minute dot com might get you the odd diamond but this is where you end up when it goes tits up.
Celtic Football Club need fresh blood at board level, younger men or women, with ideas for the modern game, with drive, ambition, honesty and integrity.
FRESH BLOOD, FACES AND IDEAS
We also need new, motivated, experienced coaches instead of loyalty to those that aren’t up to it.
The attributes above are all missing from the current incumbents, and that’s why they will cling to their positions like limpets unless the fans stick together and hand them their jotters.
We have the man in the dugout to take us to the next level, if he is given the tools and the time to do so. There is no one better out there who would come to Celtic. Rodgers has proven himself and deserves our support.
I’ve suffered the bad times, and believe me, you young supporters brought up on unbridled success don’t wanna see what us oldies have seen, but the one constant through good and bad is blogs like this holding the board accountable, and they do that whether the team is winning or not.
Nothing will ever change until our board does, have we got the minerals to see it through or do we just settle for asset stripping every time something good looks like happening?

It was heartbreaking to see Paul McStay struggle through the early nineties surrounded by mediocrity at a poorly run club.
Callum McGregor deserves a better end to his career than to be put through anything similar.

Short simple straight to the point and the truth.
People go on about Rodgers tactics and what he should change the one question I ask is with who?
We have absolutely nothing down the right hand side. Tony Ralston is no AJ but is a very decent replacement when needed.
Yang is a waste of space 20min cameos here and there and in about 80games for us has had more than a decent chance.
Forrest is done, end of.
We have Tierney on the left who looks knackered after the warm up.
That is one criticism I’ll give the manager he needs dropped until he finds the legs to do what we brought him back for.
After the Bayern game we said we needed about 3 players to push on instead we sold another 2 and brought in 2 left wingers to replace a right winger probably because MN’s super computer told him they would be stars.
We are so unbalanced and under strengthed as a team and squad Pep and Ancelloti would struggle to get something out of that team

Couldn’t agree more.
Fresh ideas needed everywhere, board and coaches.
We are simply turning into a dinosaur dying slowly.
Every team know how to play against us and sneak a win or draw.
CM is being asked to do to much in midfield, every time he turned and looked forward he had no one making any kind of run into space.
Things are stale and change is seriously needed.
