Football Insider has revealed details of a £13m windfall heading towards Phil Clement’s transfer war-chest.
It is of course complete nonsense, a firesale of the entire squad of serial losers would barely raise £20m while the expected transfer of Matt O’Riley is expected to raise more than £25m for Celtic’s bulging bank balance.
Sites like Football Insider often outdo legacy media outlets like the Herald and the Daily Record, bringing in a former player or two to echo their views helps lend credibility.
Apparently there is an £8m offer on the way from Steven Gerrard for Goldson while a £5m price tag has been placed on Tom Lawrence.
Clement has made it clear that those two players are surplus to requirements but with lucrative contracts that won’t be matched elsewhere both are likely to be around for a while yet.
Pre-season training starts at Murray Park on Monday, as it stands Jefte and Clinton Nsiala are the only new faces signed up with the AC Milan starlet not signing up until July 1.

Former Gers defender Alan Hutton told Football Insider that an £8million bid for Goldson could be accepted as the club will listen to “decent” offers for the defender.
Football Insider had previously been told that Goldson could look for a move away from Ibrox after falling out of the first team under Philippe Clement.
In other news, Rangers plan to accept a £5million offer for Tom Lawrence.
Unless Micky Beale or Graeme Souness surprisingly find themselves back in management there will be no offers coming in for Lawrence never mind £5m. According to the moonbeam above an offer of £4.5m for the former Welsh internationalist would be turned down.
Insider sources have told Celtic365 that offers of £1m for Lawrence or Goldson would be accepted instantly with the duo draining £3m a year from the wage bill.
Recently it was highlighted how Executive Chairman John Bennett was wanting to cut £10m off the wage bill that has delivered two of the last nine domestic trophies while Celtic enjoy automatic entry to the Champions League.
While Football Insider conjures up interest in Goldson and Lawrence the club has the legacy of the last two summer Revolutions! draining the wage bill for very little contribution.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst brought in Rabbi Matondo, Ridvan Yilmaz and Ben Davies for a combined £11m, a year later Micky Beale lumbered the club with Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers and Danilo at a cost of £15m. Beale also snapped up Todd Cantwell and Nicky Raskin.
The rumoured £21m bid for Jack Butland has still to materialise.
