Watch as Clement manhandles Shushburger Cantwell away from officials

Phil Clement showed exactly what he thought of the dramatics from Todd Cantwell after the final whistle in the Scottish Cup defeat to Celtic at Hampden.

After 74 ineffective minutes playing to the gallery and failing to hurt Celtic the Ibrox boss had had enough and decided to substitute the former Norwich City starlet.

Being substituted in a cup final that is in the balance, when Scott Wright is your replacement it rubs salt into the wounds.

Tik Tok walked slowly round the pitch, milking the applause behind Joe Hart’s goal knowing that his manager felt that Wright was more likely to come up with a goal.

Back in the technical area Cantwell looked on as helplessly as when he was on the park, in the 90th minute he could only look on as Adam Idah, a former Norwich team-mate scored the goal that decided the trophy.

Nicky Raskin was dispossessed by Paulo Bernardo, the on loan Benfica man strode forward 40 yards then fired a hopeful shot at goal. What happened next will forever define the Ibrox career of Jack Butland and possibly his manager.

Rather than hold the shot or push the ball for a corner Butland parried it into the path of Idah then dived over the striker’s shot. 1-0 Celtic.

Eight minutes stoppage time were added, Nick Walsh added a further two but the Celtic goal was untroubled, certainy not by Wright as the champions ran the clock down.

At the final whistle there was one more opportunity for Cantwell to play to the gallery, to show off what an uber staunch bear he is.

As players congratulated and commiserated Cantwell made his way to confront David Roome, a close friend of Bobby Madden and a bigger bear than Cantwell will ever be.

Clement saw the move, stepped in and forced Cantwell away from the scene, the latest in a number of humiliations for the D-list celeb and influencer.

Two weeks ago he was an unused substitute at Celtic Park as Clement put Raskin, Wright and Kemar Roofe on to save the match.

Back in October Cantwell was substituted after 37 minutes of the home match against ARIS Limassol, soon after the Cypriots took the lead at Ibrox.

With two years left on his Ibrox contract it looks like Clement will have to get on with his next Revolution! with Cantwell still on the payroll.
