Watch the shocking Ibrox tunnel scenes as Celtic players come under more attack

Celtic players and staff went through a gauntlet of hate after their Scottish Cup win at Ibrox.

A 4-2 win in a penalty shoot out for the visitors was just too much for the home fans to cope with as they took to the pitch after the final penalty.

Tomas Cvancara slotted his penalty past Super Jack Butland to decide the outcome of the match. But it was far from the end of the action.

Some celebrating Celtic fans spilled over onto the track at the other end to where the penalties had been taken.

The Police and stewards moved in quickly to control that problem. Suddenly fans from the three other stands appeared on the park moving towards the Celtic support.

The Celtic players cut short their celebrations, suddenly they wanted to get down the tunnel.

CELTIC PLAYERS CONFRONTED ON THE PITCH AT IBROX

They were confronted by home fans from the Enclosure. In a post match interview for Premier Sports viewers could see that there was blood on the shirt of Cvancara.

Fans wearing masks launched flares and bottles into the Celtic support, others attacked players and coaching staff.

The clip below shows the route to safety for Celtic players.

Normally the retractable tunnel is at full extension to prevent exactly these sort of incidents happening.

Only the Ibrox security team will be able to explain why that didn’t happen. Why fans were able to shout abuse and spit at players and coaches.

While that was going on hundreds of fans were on the pitch in front of the Celtic support. The Police were very close to being overwhelmed.

Hopefully the Ibrox CCTV system was functioning to identify those involved in the post match scenes.

There are incidents that warrant police action. There could be body-cam footage of incidents. Club staff should be able to identify some of those involved.

In April 2022 the CCTV failed as broken glass mysteriously appeared on the pitch during the half time interval in a defeat from Celtic.

With the home ground staff fixing the pitch during the break glass appeared in the goalmouth.

No one noticed until Joe Hart returned emerged from the second half and spotted the broken glass.

IBROX TRAIL OF SHAME

There seemed to be little in the way of an investigation into what had happened.

At the same fixture Celtic physio Daniel Friel was struck by glass thrown by an Ibrox corporate client.

Fortunately the CCTV in that part of the ground was working with the culprit identified.

When the Celtic players reached the dressing room at half time they discovered the injuries that Friel had suffered.

In March 2024 a full bottle of Buckfast was thrown at Matt O’Riley after he scored at Ibrox.

In May 2025 Vil Sinisalo had a bottle thrown at him alongside vapes, coins and other items.

No actions were taken by the authorities over those incidents and others. Such as the missile that felled Arne Engels taking a corner in January 2025.

Turning a blind eye to these incidents to protect the vile O** F*** brand has led to the sorry scenes at today’s match.

The two clubs will meet again for the final time this season in a post split fixture.

Attention will be on Michael Nicholson to see whether he takes action on the back of today’s incidents. Or if promoting the O** F*** brand is the priority over employee safety.

Nicholson is an absolute coward and a wimp and will do nothing.

The SPFL and the SFA are complicit as they have always done nothing and so have encouraged this. It is dangerous to visit Ibrox. It is easy to deflect, which is exactly what the authorities , newspapers and TV do.

The problem is due to the Ibrox fan base and their toxic views and behaviour. There is no problem when visiting Celtic Park. I know people from several other clubs in the premier division and in the championship and they say the same.

Ian Archer summed them up years ago which his very focussed comment that they were a permanent embarrassment and an occasional disgrace. Everybody outside their support knows this,

I think Celtic fans should place the blame where the blame is due .
Only an idiot of a Celtic fan would today use the h.ns unbelievable bad behaviour to blame Michael Nicholson .

        Hi Michael,

Nice of you to drop in, I appreciate that this is a tough time for you as your hopes of expanding the O** F*** brand lie in tatters.

Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to go along with the Five/Six Way Agreement.

As for pushing for the 2022 Sydney Super Cup, even by your woeful standards that was a belter.

Thanks for SFA over your time as CEO, I hear that the Scottish Curlers Union are looking for a new CEO, perhaps they might appreciate your skill set better.

        NOT ANOTHER PENNY, still.

Just watch the media and subsequent investigation do summersaults iln order to equalize things. Both as bad as each other … pish. Celtic fans enter pitch to celebrate (locally). Rangers fans cant handle it… invade and confront. Think back to 70’s cup final… same. Think back to Hibs v Rangers cup final… same… Think even weasel mcoist v lenny in cup game…..instigated by mcoist… BUT… Lenny guilty + on field indiscipline shared believe it or not.

    Good article.

Well done to the Hoops today. All included: players, coaches, staff, and fans. The board can still pack their bags. We’re getting results in spite of those cretins.
Anyway, the board seems to enjoy doing untold damage to the playing squad year in, year out, actively working against the football department through incompetence, ego, and weakness.

Damaging the football department by weakening the quality of the squad through shambolic planning and recruiting is one thing; exposing those very players to physical danger and not saying a peep is another thing completely.

Although, check the minutes of the recent collective meeting to see how they take care of their own staff…Celtic PLC all about employee welfare. The answer is your answer for what is coming this week and why today was allowed to happen. It’s because they have allowed serious assaults and dangerous behaviour to go on unchallenged at Ibrox; they would rather those animals in our stadium instead of their club’s own support, who have been vilified, slandered, attacked, and marginalised while this underclass hun mutation can run amok, risking the life and limb of the Celtic plc employees… and a lot of the on-field assets they have bestowed upon us. No protection in any numbers out there post match that I could see.

Mostly, giving mates ‘hawners’ see Cvancara when he goes to help his colleague in the Celtic staff getting assaulted by a fat foaming at the mouth neanderthal.
    They don’t give a damn.
    Sack the board

Finally, Congrats bhoys! Get it up the lot of them!! Yass
