Lawrence Donegan has been a man on a mission in recent times. The happy clapper of all Celtic happy clappers.
Gradually the apologists for the failures in charge of Celtic have been falling by the wayside.
For most things have passed the point of no return.
Big bad Brendan Rodgers was blamed for all things at the start of the season despite being denied quality signings to replace the departing goal-scorers.
While Michael Nicholson was selling players off Rodgers had to try and get those players through a Champions League Play Off against Kairat Almaty.
CELTIC COLLECTIVE TURN UP THE HEAT ON BOARDROOM FAILURES
Nicholson engineered the exit of Rodgers, soon he booted out the Green Brigade.
Martin O’Neill returned the feel good factor before the hopeless CEO intervened again to step up his unmanaged decline.
Wilfried Nancy was so good that Nicholson gave two interviews to Celtic TV about how wonderful the Frenchman was.
After 33 nightmare days, six defeats out of eight Nancy was gone. Taking Paul Tisdale with him.
Nicholson remained. After going all in on Nancy he has resumed his vow of silence. For fan engagement he hit the vino in Bologna.
Most of the apologists have kept a low profile. Not yer man Donegan. Oh no.
DONEGAN- THE LONG DISTANCE CHEERLEADER
From the west coast of America he has been on a crusade.
The former musician, political researcher and journalist appears to be devoting every waking hour to trashing the Celtic Fans Collective.
As a young radical he worked as a researcher for Brian Wilson. That period seems to have left a deep impression on Donegan.
With the Celtic Fans Collective calling out Wilson and his boardroom colleagues Donegan has jumped to the defence of his political mentor.
To the extent of calling out the Collective leadership as ‘trots and SWP’. Socialist Workers Party, it seems that Donegan is trapped in a new Labour time-warp.
After going down that line, on Thursday Donegan decided to personalise his attack.
A guy based on the west coast of the USA was accusing Peter Kelly of the Collective of not attending matches!
Hi Lawrence, I’m the guy. And no, it isn’t true.

Starters, followed by
So many people Lawrence? I doubt ‘so many people’ would even know me. But the answer is Sunday, where I took this picture. Now a public apology would be nice. pic.twitter.com/wj3bDsPG4S

Yes. So now that you have been shown up to be wrong you can delete this tweet.

And there’s more for smarty pants Lawrence, he couldn’t resist coming back for more despite being trashed at every turn.
Ach Lawrence, I thought you would have wanted to keep whatever respectability you had. It appears not and you are determined to show yourself up. Anyway, why don’t we have a friendly chat at the next game you will be at? You just let me know what game you will be at.
— peter kelly (@pedrok111) February 5, 2026
Why would I tell you that Lawrence? I have no doubt that you are a Celtic supporter. Even though so many people tell me otherwise! But then we both know we shouldn’t believe what so many people tell us. Anyway, let me know about the Stuttgart game and we can catch up.

And with that Donegan opted out. Back to the comfort of the decreasing band of happy clappers standing up for their corporate heroes.
Every time Donegan logs onto Twitter he embarrasses himself and his hero Wilson.
The former Labour MP has contributed nothing to Celtic in over 20 years as a Non Executive Director.
On the gravy train of first class travel, cushioned seats, prawn sandwiches while claiming back expenses on everything. A Westminster trait.
Wilson’s pathetic appearance on Celtic TV on Thursday strengthened the case for and the resolve of the Collective. Not the intention.
With his Labour colleagues mired in sleaze the timing of Wilson’s interview was another classic own goal.
And for irony, tomorrow Donegan will be boycotting the match against Dundee. Just like those nasty trots and socialists.
