Bought and sold- Four Celtic Fan Media ‘influencers’ overdose on prawn sandwiches

Most days of the week they can be seen and heard calling out the failings of the Celtic board.

You name it they nail it.

Across ACSOM, The Celtic Way, Celts Are Here and A Celtic World they are passionate, committed fans setting out the case for change.

To modernise Celtic into a forward thinking and ambitious football club. Fit for 2026.

They know every detail about Bodo Glimt. The secrets of Club Brugge. How to build a club from nothing into a European force. They know everything about strategy planning, data, analysis. These guys have got it all at their fingertips and power-points.

SELL OUT OF THE CELTIC REVOLUTIONARIES

The angry young Revolutionaries with the plans and ideas to shake Celtic to the core. Real Celtic men, die-hards.

Until a friend of a friend offers them a round of prawn sandwiches and a few bottles of bubbly.

And with that they are off to dine with the friends of Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay and Brian Wilson.

Their fan media profiles open doors to hospitality and with that their credentials are cast aside as they rub shoulders with the friends of corporate Celtic.

Quinny from the Celts Are Here podcast thought that it was a great idea to show him and his mates at today’s match. A 2-1 defeat from Hibs, a seventh SPFL defeat of the season. Perhaps the result hasn’t sunk in through the drunken haze.

Going by the lighting it looks like the picture was taken pre-match. Some of the glazed looks would suggest that recollections of the match will be vague.

Quinny has previous.

NOT ANOTHER PENNY

With the Not Another Penny campaign well underway he was given a Golden Ticket to meet a couple of players at the opening of the Celtic Store in Queen Street. How could he resist, he didn’t. All in like a kid on Christmas morning.

Invited by Celtic, accepted and used to try and boost merchandise sales in direct opposition to the Celtic Fans Collective.

PJ Dykes has been a forceful supporter of the Collective on ACSOM. Arguing strongly their points and the reasons why urgent change is needed.

Clearly his judgement is flawed. Anyone streetwise in fan media would be body swerving club hospitality. Who is paying for it doesn’t matter in the slightest.

The invite probably came from someone very close to the board.

A useful way of splitting the fans and Collective. Just like the promises of unity talks from interim Chairman Wilson.

The former Labour MP has no interest in unity.

He wants to split the support and has handfuls of Scottish Cup tickets for Ibrox to entice fan leaders back on board.

Be an uber fan with selfies inside Ibrox to demonstrate what a huge Celtic supporter you are.

FAN MEDIA BAN AND ENGAGEMENT

The fan media platforms enjoying today’s prawn sandwiches have been howling for weeks about being denied access to media conferences.

In the big picture of Celtic’s issues it is very much a triviality.

Fan media access, on a rota, once per month to ask one question with no follow up is utterly pointless. Unless it is for ego massage purposes.

No fan media outlet suffers from not asking banal questions to uninterested players.

If supporters want the dull and predictable they have Celtic’s legacy media favourites to provide that content.

ACSOM on Monday usually features Dykes and Quinny.

With their credentials shot to pieces tomorrow could provide interesting viewing, and back-tracking.

Lifelong fans skipping games to show solidarity.

Grown men having to explain to their kids of grandkids why their not going to the game this weekend.

Fans and their kids missing out on merch to follow and support their team, the only way most know how to make an impact.

And here you have these 4 diddies thinking it’s ok to accept hospitality from the club and post a pic of it just to rub it in.

The miners back in the 80’s had a name for people like this.

What a bunch of shallow, shameless freeloaders.
