Celtic fans got the answer to the questions they posed to the board earlier in the week.
An appeal by tens of thousands of supporters for answers and dialogue was met with an anonymous briefing to The Sun newspaper.
The club used their newspaper of choice to undermine the manager and completely ignore all the concerns raised by the fans.
This isn’t the 1980s – the anonymous briefing to a print journalist was debunked and trashed by Celtic fan media before a copy of The Sun had stained a single thumb with newsprint on Saturday morning.
Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised by this latest act of cowardice.

The statement issued by the North Curve on Tuesday and backed by hundreds of CSC’s, fan groups and media outlets was a statement of intent.
Some of the questions were merely asking the club to release information they themselves had gathered, such as the fan survey and the Fairhurst Inquiry.
It was mild by comparison to the numerous calls for heads to roll in the boardroom.
Some basic questions that most fans could sign up for.
That the club chose to ignore the fans and go after the manager, in The Sun of all places, tells us just how entrenched their position is.
From his Liverpool days the choice of messenger won’t be lost on Brendan Rodgers.
They would rather undermine the manager and the team than engage with their own supporters.
To deal with the content of their anonymous briefing – if Rodgers is tearing the club apart – sack him, that’s your job.
A cowardly anonymous briefing to try to garner some sympathy and point the finger elsewhere merely highlights another job failing on their part.
That’s assuming what they say is true.
That would mean accepting that a manager with proven track record at Celtic and the EPL IS a problem when he asks for his team to be strengthened and not weakened.
Rodgers has clearly stated he returned to the club to try to repair his reputation after the manner of his leaving first time around.
Seems believable enough.
To his credit, Rodgers took the flack and never said a bad word about the club back in 2019 when he could have fired back with his reasons for leaving.
Many suspect he was not being properly backed to improve his squad, sounds very, very familiar.
But according to “Anonymous Insider” he is in fact “tearing the club apart”.
You would have thought the board had damaged enough Celtic players and former staff this week.
Sending players for medicals then recalling them, promising loan moves for development then cancelling them due to lack of signings.
Trashing the clubs reputation with their farcical “business dealings” and treatment of players.
Yet put them under some pressure to improve and you see the reaction – attack the manager who is tasked with salvaging the season after the boards horrific summer transfer shambles.
The team will need the backing of the fans like never before and of course they will get it.
Quite how they are feeling can only be guessed at. Being well paid and living in big houses and driving nice cars doesn’t make you immune from watching your friends getting treated like dirt at work.
We know Daizen Maeda wanted to leave, a perfectly reasonable position after almost four years and the best season of his career.
And it should have been accommodated had the club been prepared to replace him and plan for the future.
Perhaps more of Ange Postecoiglou’s team, or the team that Dom McKay helped built, are ready to move on.
All we can do as fans at this point is let the team know we are backing them 100 per cent, home and away.
Our quarrel is with the CEO and the board, the “custodians” who treat the fans with contempt, the architects of the asset stripping of the first team, the guys with access to the bank account with £80 mil plus in it, the people who hide behind anonymous briefings to The Sun.
There will be no hiding place on 27 September when Hibs come to Celtic Park.
