Clueless Tom English claims half hearted Celtic protests will soon calm down!

Tom English thinks that the protests against the Celtic board will calm down with a few wins on the football park.

He also thinks that chants of SACK THE BOARD from the away support was a little half-hearted.

English hasn’t got a clue about soccer, he knows even less about Celtic and the dynamics of the Celtic support.

Pre-match Radio Scotland had English and Stephen Craigan discussing the issues at Celtic, between them they didn’t have a single original thought or insight into what is going on.

LEGACY MEDIA LEFT BEHIND

With legacy media naturally siding with the Celtic board to remain in the news loop the organic growth that has brought over 400 Celtic supporters together has been sneered at.

It is a concept too difficult for their limited intellect to grasp, Celtic are unbeaten this season, they have won five matches and drawn three and are nine points clear of their alleged city rivals.

The more that the Celtic board hides, Peter Lawwell, Tom Allison and Sharon Brown skipped a free lunch yesterday, the greater the opposition to them grows.

Under a headline of ‘Rodgers & Celtic bring board relief but fan unrest remains‘ English delivered a typically bland chin-stroking assessment of the events at Rugby Park.

His thoughts on the BBC website about the fan protests completely missed the point with

The under-fire Celtic board will hope that a series of wins will reduce the pressure on them, that a widening gap between them and Rangers – now a mighty nine points – will calm things down over time. Maybe. Another “sack the board” chant went up at the end, a little half-hearted, perhaps, but a reminder that the anger has not subsided.

Celtic, Lawwell

Almost uniquely the protests from the Celtic support isn’t results driven. True, Kairat Almaty was a sickener but the protests are built around seven key questions, since the North Curve went public Celtic have scored two colossal own goals with Brendan Rodgers almost gloating over them in an outstanding media conference. English and BBC Scotland weren’t invited.

A cowardly person inside Celtic ran to The Sun with very specific and wholly inaccurate allegations about Brendan Rodgers.

Within 24 hours of that piece surfacing Celtic almost outdid it with a statement that will be shown to media students for years to come in how not to deal with the public, how to avoid making a bad situation worse.

CELTIC’S DOUBLE WHAMMY

Those two events confirmed the levels of incompetence inside Celtic Park. Whether it is tone dead or failing to read the room the decision makers are badly out of touch, hardly surprising after four years under the leadership of Michael Nicholson.

Despite springing up very quickly there is incredible unity and purpose among the Celtic support.

Around 75% of the fans with tickets for the Kilmarnock match stayed out until the 12th minute, there was barely a cross word between the two viewpoints.

That has been achieved in barely a fortnight, backed by fan media and social media it will trivalise legacy media and dinosaurs like English.

Unrest is growing at Celtic, three directors decided to be elsewhere on Sunday, Nicholson is nervously watching the clock ticking down towards a home match against Hibs on September 27.

Momentum is underway, English and his ilk will be watching on from the sidelines.
