‘I’m dreading Parkhead’ ‘dismal again’ ‘Absolutely dire’ Angry bears turning on the Clement Revolution!

Less than 10,000 bears were left inside Hampden as Kevin Clancy blew the final whistle on a 2-1 win for Phil Clement as his side toiled past Motherwell.

With Motherwell pushing hard for an equaliser just two minutes of stoppage time was played as the SPFL runners-up registered their first win in their last five competitive matches.

After Cyriel Dessers scored a last gasp equaliser away to Dinamo Kiev in midweek there was an air of optimism among the bears as they made their way to Hampden to revive past nightmares at the National Stadium.

Clement watched as his side put in a fairly lively first 45 minutes to lead 2-2 but the highlight was an own goal from new signing Robin Propper that brought the visitors level.

After the break there was barely anything between two bad teams, as the match progressed so did the anxiety of the Season Ticket holders as they realised they were watching last season’s performances at a new venue.

Starting with James Tavernier, John Souttar, Tom Lawrence and Scott Wright is never going to be popular but after Sam Lammers and Connor Goldson left for undisclosed fees there is no more movement out of Ibrox.

The hype of the Daily Record has been unable to bring in bids for Ianis Hagi or Todd Cantwell, the Glasgow based publisher has even given up on trying to get Steven Gerrard to put in an offer for Captain Disappointed. Clement has looked bemused at how his Revolution! has stalled.

On Tuesday Dinamo Kiev visit for the second leg of the Champions League Third Round qualifier, if the Ukrainians are slightly better than Motherwell there could be an incredible backlash against the Belgian Beale.

Next Saturday St Johnstone visit Hampden in the League Cup, there could be a further midweek Champions League qualifier followed by the visit of Ross County in the SPFL on August 24.
