Jack Butland was involved in an angry fan confrontation on Sunday following the 4-1 victory over Kilmarnock.
It seems that tensions were running high among the home support with Borna Barisic involved in a similar incident while signing items outside of the stadium.
Butland has been held up as the model professional off the park, dealing with the softball media questions with ease and knowing how to conduct himself and project his image at all times.
Over the last six weeks the mood has turned notcably around Ibrox, the new year joy and excitement of putting in a challenge to Selik under a Proper Football Manager has given way to the cold reality of the post split SPFL table.
One point from six away to Dundee and Rodd County has come with bitter recriminations that has mainly been aimed at the Core Leadership Group led by James Tavernier and Connor Goldson.
Butland is in his first season at the club but quickly discovered the toxic nature of the fans following the early season home defeats from Celtic and Aberdeen that forced Micky Beale out the door.
Most players turn a deaf ear to anything critical from supporters but the video clip below shows that Butland took exception to something said from behind a security fence and turned to confront the fan.

After losing to Aberdeen at the end of September Butland was praised by fans after a video clip showed him discussing issues with a fan outside Argyle House behind the Govan Stand. Earlier Tavernier had blanked the angry bears.
The newer recruits will be well aware at the level of anger from supporters towards the players with the more senior players the main targets for abuse.

Completing his ninth season Tavernier has won three trophies while watching Celtic rack up five trebles, telling club TV that he is bitterly disappointed doesn’t quite cut it with supporters brought up with a superiority complex that is ridiculed at every turn.
Connor Goldson and Barisic have been at the club since the summer of 2018, seeing off various management regimes while getting very rich on the back of supporters loyalty.
Barisic seems certain to be off to Turkey in the summer with Goldson picking up a ‘training ground injury’ after being dropped for Leon Balogun who is out of contract at the end of this month and who picked up a back injury during the Kilmarnock match.
