‘Disgraceful performance from every single one of them’ ‘They’ve bottled it’ ‘these players collapse’ Ibrox fans turn on Clement’s Europa flops

Reality returned to Ibrox tonight as loyal bears watched their heroes draw 1-1 at home to ARIS Limassol.

As Philippe Clement mentioned afterwards, it was progress from the 2-1 defeat away to the Cypriot minnows last month in the first match post-Beale but it never felt that way for the fans inside Ibrox tonight.

Nine matches into the latest Revolution the Belgian magician has now drawn three matches, unless they can win away to Real Betis in a fortnight they’ll almost certainly be looking at Europa Conference football in the new year.

A few VAR assisted wins in the SPFL gave the Gullible & Deluded fresh hope of success this season but even a decent manager would struggle to make something out of a group of serial losers bolstered by Micky Beale’s summer misfits.

ARIS had lost three of their four previous matches but knocked the ball about confidently at Ibrox to get the home fans edgy, especially with Sam Lammers and Jose Cifuentes on the park.

Seven minutes after Shavy Babicka had opened the scoring for ARIS the boos were echoing around the stadium as Todd Cantwell was replaced by Ross McCausland.

The petted lip was out, TikTok seemed to walk off in slow motion, there was no eye contact with Clement before he kicked out at an object in the dug-out. The Poundland Jack Grealish deserves more respect than that.

Wonderboy McCausland equalised in the 49th minute but there was no siege on the ARIS goal with the Cypriots refusing to panic, creating as many chances as their celebrated opponents.

There was more booing at the final whistle as the home fans realised the handover created by The Brains Behind Gerrard, with no January Warchest it could be a long dark winter for the Belgian magician as he tries to outlast his two predecessors in the manager’s job at Ibrox.
