Brendan Rodgers spoke to Celtic TV following a 4-1 victory over Portimonense to complete a six day stay at their training camp in Quinta do Lago.
Goals from Reo Hatate, Liel Abada, Ben Summers and Oh Hyeon-gyu gave the manager plenty to be encouraged about over what was essentially a step up from the training sessions that the players have been going through.
Other than the goalscorers and the mention of a first half assist from Alexandro Bernabei there is nothing about the team-lines on Celtic’s website or Twitter account.
Celtic had drawn 0-0 with the same opponents on Wednesday with Rodgers making reference to getting his international players involved in today’s match as well as using some of the younger players promoted from last season’s B team.
The squad will fly home from Faro this afternoon, touch base then prepare to fly out to Japan where they will take on Yokohama F Marinos on Wednesday followed by Gamba Osaki on Saturday with both matches kicking off at 11am Celtic Park time.
