Celtic’s Korea trip set to go ahead

Celtic’s match in Korea looks like going ahead with local side Incheon United set to step in and replace Wolves.

Brendan Rodgers takes his squad to Japan for matches on July 19 and 22 with a game scheduled against Wolves on July 26.

The English side announced in midweek that they were pulling out of their two match trip to Korea which left Celtic in a bit of a spot.

After signing Oh Hyeon-gyu in January playing in Korea would be the perfect follow up but it seems that a replacement fixture is about to be announced.

A spokesman for organisers Stadium X told The Sun:

While the visits of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Roma have been cancelled, a match between Celtic and Incheon United is still progressing.

We are changing our original schedule and promoting a match now between Incheon and Celtic, who have national striker Oh Hyeon-gyu in their team.

We would like to express our deepest apologies to football fans in South Korea for the cancellation of some of the matches.

After the trip to Asia Celtic return home to take on Athletic club of Bilbao in the Testimonial match for James Forrest on August 1.

From there on the action gets serious with Ross County visiting on August 5 for the SPFL opener.
