Last season it took until February before O’Riley scored his first goal of the season, this season in a slightly different role he has scored six goals from 11 appearances, earning a breather last Saturday away to Ross County.
International football is very much double-edged, next week O’Riley will be mingling with players from across Europe when money and contracts are bound to be a topic of conversation.
Celtic got the former MK Dons man onto a new improved contract earlier this season
but if his rate of progress continues there are likely to be offers coming in for him in January or next summer.
Finding the next O’Riley is a big ask for Celtic’s Recruitment Team but just two years ago he was playing for MK Dons in League One which demonstrates that the talent is out there waiting to be identified.
