‘An absolute disgrace’ ‘shambles’ ‘easier to get Oasis tickets’ Celtic fans react to ticket fiasco

Celtic inflicted more frustration and pain on supporters today through their out-dates Ticket system.

Around 4,000 tickets were made available for the final SPFL fixture of the season, at home to Hearts on May 16.

All sorts of permutations are available for that match. Non Season Ticket holders weren’t wanting to hang around.

The online ticket sale was due to start at 10am, to the surprise of no-one in particular the Celtic ticket system was instantly overwhelmed.

‘Technical issues’ was the message to frustrated fans as they shared their woes on social media.

Every obstacle imaginable was encountered. Fans found problems every step of the way. Selecting seats, entering details, adding to basket.

Not many got close to Checking Out.

That is the phrase that many fans would like to hear relating to Michael Nicholson and his world class executive team.

World class in everything we do. It is the quite that will forever define the underwhelming leadership of Michael Nicholson.

In his only media exposure, welcoming new manager Brendan Rodgers in June 2023, the Celtic CEO muttered that phrase.

CELTIC BY ORDER- THE MANAGED DECLINE

With a treble in the trophy room. Guaranteed Champions League football and an elite manager on a three year contract Nicholson thought that he was some sort of leader.

That happy picture lasted two years.

Today Celtic have one trophy, sit third in one of the worst leagues in Europe and are hoping that their 74-year-old interim manager can somehow produce a title win.

In every area of the club Celtic fall short of being mediocre.

The B team has finished 10th out of 18 in the Lowland League.

Eight different strikers have been played this season, none of them coming through the ranks.

With six goals Kelechi Iheanacho is the top scoring striker. Never before has the opportunity been greater for an emerging striker.

After five seasons playing in the Lowland League there is absolutely nothing coming through the ranks.

Ticketing is just another area that Celtic fall short in.

THE APP, COMMUNICATIONS AND THE COLLECTIVE

True the club has introduced an App this season. Integrating it with a modern ticketing system would have been a step too far.

The App is to raise funds, not to inform or communicate with fans.

Soon the club will be asking fans to renew their Season Tickets.

The Celtic Fans Collective have suggested that fans make the board sweat by holding off until the last day to renew.

Based on today’s experience and the ticket sales for the St Mirren semi-final the ticket system won’t be able to cope.

Meanwhile Celtic have been without a permanent manager, Chairman and Head of Football Operations since January 5.

Nothing inside Celtic is competent never mind world class. Starting at the very top with mute Mike the CEO.

Social media? Celtic FC tickets hasn’t tweeted since 17 May 2025.
