Fan Fury- watch as Clement is confronted by angry fans as he returns to Ibrox

After losing to Celtic in the Glasgow Derby Phil Clement told a media conference that supporters would have to be patient.

For good measure his side had virtually matched Celtic for shots, shots on target, possession and corner but on the scoresheet a 3-0 defeat will be recorded..

By the time the former Monaco boss had returned to Ibrox with his exciting young team sprinkled with serial losers there was an angry mob of supporters letting the Belgian know what they thought about his Revolution!

As recently as April bears were planning how to trash George Square to celebrate their second ever title win, after today’s defeat many are already conceding that Celtic won’t be caught as they chase down title number 55.

Since his fist pumping lap of honour following a 3-3 Moral Victory Clement has been on an incredible self destruction drive with increasingly bizarre media performances, comments and statements.

Stats have increasingly become a comfort blanket, over the last few days he has been highlighting his exciting young team, apparently they have an average age of 26 against the 27 of Celtic.

Outside of Kasper Schmeichel and Callum McGregor Celtic have a very youthful side, after spending £16m during the summer Clement has absolutely no-one of the calibre or character of the two most experienced Celts.

After the moral victory against Celtic in April Clement watched his side take one point from six against Ross County and Dundee, the SPFL season ended with Shushburgers at Tynecastle and Super Jack Butland setting Adam Idah up for the winner in the Scottish Cup Final.

The downward spiral has continued into the new campaign despite the high hopes for a side built around Connor Barron.

A month into the campaign Clement’s side are sitting fourth in the SPFL Premiership table and out of the Champions League with a horror Europa League group that includes facing two English and French sides.

With hardly any international players Tavpen will lead the losers in training this week with a menacing SPFL match away to high flying Dundee United lurking on September 15 with the real prospect of trailing Celtic by eight points going into that fixture.

As today’s post match demonstrations showed expectations and entitlement are in the Ibrox DNA, fortunately for Clement his recently extended contract should ensure that he is well weighed in if the pattern of changing manager every autumn continues for a fourth season.
