SNP Councillor shames McCoist into Walking Away

Ally McCoist has been shamed into walking away from his plan to commit hate crimes at Ibrox on Sunday.

The cliche-meister adored by English audiences for his super enthusiastic role as a co-commentator let his mask slip on Tuesday morning as he shared a TalkSPORT studio with Jeff Sterling.

It seems that a mention in the news of a new law against Hate Crimes in Scotland struck a nerve with McCoist as he launched into another blast of Nat-bashing.

Despite managing an operation that denied Her Majesty more than £20m in a single season the former Rangers boss likes to play the Unionist card at every turn to retain his connection with the thousands that find a home for their warped idea-ologies at Ibrox.

Being off duty on Sunday McCoist was looking forward to being at Ibrox for the visit of Celtic, normally the complete professional when he is on air he couldn’t resist sharing his intentions to join in the songs of hate that are ingrained into the matchday experience at Ibrox.

TalkSPORT offered no apology for the intentions of their presenter but before the show had finished McCoist and his plan had gone viral on social media.

Sadly there was barely any condemnation of McCoist’s Hate plan, certainly nothing from any Labour or Tory politicians who are too busy chasing the vote that he appeals to.

This morning on TalkSPORT the normally confident and assured McCoist announced a hurried change of plan, he won’t be going to Ibrox after all despite his boasts on live radio the previous morning.

Almost certainly the thought of losing out on his lucrative media deals with ITV, Amazon, TNT and Viaplay forced McCoist’s change of plan just as in December 2014 when he opted for gardening leave rather than the prospect of a League Cup semi-final against Ronny Deila’s Celtic.
