Pressure piles on Nicholson as SFA laugh off Celtic’s Trusty appeal

After a surprise show of bravery Michael Nicholson now has to face the consequences of having the Auston Trusty appeal rejected by the SFA.

Will he follow the lead of his mentor Peter Lawwell and move on for the good of Scottish football or does he genuinely believe that Celtic were wronged at Tynecastle.

Does he believe that two leading SFA officials coldly looked at a video clip and decided wrongly to penalise Celtic?

Almost no Celtic fans have any trust in Steven McLean and John Beaton.

We have known for more than a decade what they both are. Both of them detest Celtic, as do their families.

NICHOLSON- THE SERIAL FAILURES

They should never be anywhere near a Celtic match. Or a fixture that impacts Celtic.

Nicholson knows the views of Celtic supporters on the matter.

At the 2023 AGM he was asked about Beaton during a recent match against St Mirren with the usual ‘puzzling’ decisions.

Quick as a flash mad Mikey the CEO replied with ‘penalty to Rangers’ as he grinned and looked across for the approval of big Peter. His mentor, hero and sponsor.

‘Penalty to Rangers’ won’t do as a reply this time Michael.

Celtic clearly believe that Beaton and McLean don’t know the Laws of the Game or chose not to apply them.

Those two officials are in among Willie Collum’s elite group that includes Don Robertson, Nick Walsh and David Dickinson.

Beaton and McLean will be appointed to take charge of Celtic matches in February.

If Nicholson allows that to happen he is even weaker than last week’s drunk wondering the streets of Bologna looking for attention and praise.

Lawwell got away with token complaints and statements being ignored and laughed at by the SFA.

A winning team helps to shift the agenda on for most fans.

There isn’t much chance that Celtic are about to go on a10 match winning run.

WILLIE COLLUM’S FRONT LINE ENFORECERS

The decisions of McLean, Walsh, Beaton, Robertson and Dickinson are impacting on success.

It isn’t going to be the difference between a 12 point lead and ‘only’ six points.

These mistakes could make the difference between first and third.

This is a consequence of trusting Mark Lawwell and Paul Tisdale to manage recruitment.

The current squad is thin on quality and depth. These ‘honest mistakes’ are now making a difference in terms of SPFL positions.

By appealing the red card against Trusty Nicholson has put himself more in the firing line.

Celtic’s reaction tonight demands further reaction:

We await the written judgement but will be ensuring further discussions with the SFA on the matter as we seek to understand the rationale for this and other decisions.

At the very least Celtic must demand the release of the Tynecastle audio.

LET’S US HEAR THETRUSTY AUDIO

Surely they heard that at today’s Appeal Hearing. Surely having a ‘leading sports lawyer’ as CEO presenting the Appeal the entire hearing revolved around sharing the audio.

Having questioned the SFA, calling out two leading referees there is no way back for Nicholson.

If he chooses to back off, chooses to move on as Lawwel did repeatedly it is another stick to beat the hapless CEO with.

Michael, we are watching you. Big Peter’s media messengers have no loyalty to the current CEO.

You have no credibility, have achieved SFA in over four years as CEO. Taking down Collum, Beaton or McLean would salvage something from a career that never got close to mediocrity.

I don’t actually know the story here but just cos of this situation i was actually thinking about any action taking against the wee hun who had a go at the Aberdeen guy and his son after their match recently? No laughing at the back but as that reprobate Boyd howled about trusty ‘rules the rules the rules’ whilst they proved the opposite of his views. He also had similar about the Raskin ned bawbaggery. The players are a licensed participant and fans are not. The players actually are answerable to the rules of IFAB so at the very least he should have been sent off or at least a lengthy jail term without parole. I would say. Ifab said below

The rules aa IFAB clarified are

The disciplinary action that could be taken depends on the exact nature of the offence, but the Laws provide, for example, for the following offences committed against an outside agent (which would include spectator, ball boy/girl, security person etc..:
Red card – violent conduct /punching, kicking etc…)
Red card – offensive, insulting or abusive language
Yellow card – goal celebrations which are provocative, derisory or inflammatory behaviour
Yellow card – unsporting behaviour, including showing a lack of respect for the game

We hope this clarifies matters for you.

    Best wishes

    The IFAB.
