Why Nicholson, Tisdale and Nancy need emptied from Celtic tonight

Everything wrong with Celtic was on show at Hampden today. Every aspect of the club is rotten except the support.

With 15 minutes left to play a rag-tag side were trailing 3-1 against St Mirren. In the SPFL Premiership the Paisley side have won three out of 15 matches.

St Mirren breezed through at Hampden today, in charge from the second minute when Marcus Fraser headed in a corner. It was the third successive match that Celtic have lost a goal from a corner kick. No Celtic fan was surprised to see the ball hit the net.

NICHOLSON’S PLANNED DECLINE

A moment of brilliance from Reo Hatate levelled the match in the 23rd minute, plenty of time to turn the game around against a club playing in their first final in 12 years.

Not a chance.

Celtic’s pathetic medical department struck again when Kelechi Iheanacho suffered a relapse of his hamstring injury. Just like Alastair Johnston and Marcelo Saracchi.

Johnny Kenny was the replacement. In January he was scheduled to join St Mirren on loan. Michael Nicholson’s failure to replace Kyogo Furuhashi meant that he stayed on at Celtic. Promoted by default.

When Nicholson sanctioned the sale of Kyogo after beating YB Bern he put his foot on the accelerator of decline. It has been relentless ever since.

Apparently Nicholson is a top sports lawyer although no evidence exists to back that up.

As Chief Executive Officer of Celtic he does nothing to justify his £850,000 a year salary plus perks.

He doesn’t make decisions, he doesn’t provide leadership. He is even scared to give interviews to Celtic TV.

TISDALE THE NO-MARK FROM EXETER

Nicholson provides Celtic with nothing. Celtic provides Nicholson with a salary that he wouldn’t get near elsewhere. He owes his grossly inflated salary to Peter Lawwell. Like most employees at Celtic Park.

Although he is a nominal CEO the appointment of Paul Tisdale is on Nicholson’s watch. If he had a problem with it he would have rejected that appointment or resigned subsequently.

Tisdale is a run of the mill jobsworth English lower league manager. Stevie Evans has more experience and success on his CV.

Somehow he has charmed his way into Celtic. First as a consultant in the summer of 2024. A few months later he was Head of Football Operations, a post created for him.

WILFRIED NANCY

This summer Tisdale masterminded recruitment. It was horrific. Now he is dictating who manages Celtic.

Through a mutual contact in Kwame Ampadu Celtic are managed by Wilfried Nancy. That is his only qualification for the job. After four years managing in North America.

Nancy did his due diligence. He assessed the Celtic squad, the executives that influenced him and the track record of Tisdale. He accepted the job.

No credible manager would work alongside Nicholson and Tisdale.

Brendan Rodgers drive success at Celtic, last season he won 12 points in the Champions League. During 2024 Celtic lost two matches.

At Hampden today Celtic lost for the fourth time this season to Scottish opponents. There are likely to be more defeats in the remainder of 2025.

Today’s performance was horrific. Nothing to do with trainers or tactic boards.

Nancy wanted to throw Kieran Tierney and Liam Scales flying down the left wing.

Every player bar Kasper Schmeichel and Auston Trusty were on the park to attack. St Mirren lapped it up, Steven Robinson won’t have an easier match this season.

Nicholson, Tisdale and Nancy have no future at Celtic.

They can choose to depart now with a grain of self respect, or, more likely they will hang around for their pay offs.

No one who has Celtic’s best interests at heart can disagree with a word that you say.

    It’s time for change.

I suspect the Happy Clappers will be taking the night off.

I was not one bit surprised by that result today. Obviously disappointed. But in no way shocked.
This group of players, injuries aside, were lifted by MON and had some confidence restored. Nancy comes along and bins all that good work and confuses the hell out of everyone!
Had he won those last 3 games then it would have been a great appointment. Well, he didn’t and it wasn’t, so along with that horrible board he needs to pack his bags and Celtic need to rebuild.
Truth is they needed to start that process in earnest a year ago.

The real problem is Desmond Trump.
Lawwell and the board are his lackeys.

Nancy is the most disastrous appointment yet at Celtic. There’s no way someone from the MLS in ‘Soccerland USA’ should be managing our club. He needs binned now, whatever the cost, before he leads us over the cliff.
