Celtic take cowardly Vow of Silence

Following the home defeat from Hearts Celtic have decided to fall silent. No real surprise there with Michael Nicholson as CEO.

Three days before a ‘glamour’ Europa League tie against Roma the club hasn’t put a single story on their website. Similarly there has been nothing on the club Twitter/X account.

The feel good factor for the appointment of Wilfried Nancy has come to a halt. There has been no follow up to Michael Nicholson’s horrific You Tube interview from Friday.

It seems that the the pledges for improved communications from the CEO are just another sound-bite to pacify the entitled customers.

CELTIC RELATIONS HIT ROCK BOTTOM

Relations between the club and the Board of Directors are at an all time low.

During the 93/94 season crowds were down to around 20,000 by the time December came around. There was no great fanfare for the appointment of Lou Macari in November.

This time around things are vastly changed but the underlying issue remains. A disconnect. An ultra conservative board without any trace of ambition.

In the early nineties the world was closing in on Celtic, from every side.

Thirty years on the club has stalled.

Dominant in the Scottish goldfish bowl and absolute minnows elsewhere.

UEFA LIGHTWEIGHTS

Sitting in 57th place in the UEFA coefficient table. Over the next two nights Qarabag, Pafos, Club Brugge and USG will be competing in the Champions League, not just making up the numbers.

A year ago Celtic have eight Champions League points after five matches. This year they have seven Europa League points from the same amount of matches.

Turning to the club website the latest news is ‘Post match reaction from the Celtic manager’ not even a name check from the man Nicholson was hugging at Lennoxtown on Thursday.

FESTIVE CHEER

At this time of year clubs are usually full of festive cheer as they look to extract money from supporters.

Over the next seven days Celtic have a European match and a Cup Final.

So much content and options yet the club has just switched off. It seems that the club is admitting that the Fans Collective have sussed them out.

There is very little right about Celtic.

On the back of a decade of domestic domination the club is no further forward. Actually they have stalled or are locked in reverse gear.

The club can’t even put up a defence of their actions/inaction.

COLLECTIVE ACTION

Five thousand fans backed the Collective as they marched from St Mary’s, through the wind and rain and up the Celtic Way.

Green Brigade volunteers collected food stuffs by the van load. Cash donations flew in.

Yet not a word or acknowledgment from the club.

Instead we have a dirty war with the club turning to their friends at the Daily Record to smear the Celtic support, the Collective in particular.

Three months ago they chose the Scottish Sun to demonise Brendan Rodgers, the manager that delivered 12 Champions League points last season and five sell-out home matches.

Even after winning away to Feyenoord there is very little sign of enthusiasm for the match with Roma on Thursday.

A cup final is on the horizon. There are no symptoms of cup fever to be found.

In times like this any organisation needs leadership, drive, ambition, excitement. Celtic have Michael Nicholson.

Its not all one way so write an article on the behaviours of the others. I would like to see changes at board level but its not easy to do by any means
Get behind the manager and the team not behind protest banners
