‘This guy is going to torment Celtic’ ‘a serious manager’ ‘I cannot imagine who would beat Rangers’ The Clement man crush that backfired on Keevins

As 2024 comes to a close it is hard to believe the changes that have flown through Scottish football over the last 12 months. Especially if you are Hugh Keevins.

Unusually the same character is still in post as manager at Ibrox but it is a game by game existence for Phil Clement with the furniture all packed as his Belgian garden prepares to welcome his return.

Back in January hopes were sky high that A Proper Football Manager could knock Celtic into second place, expose Brendan Rodgers and restore the natural order last season during the tainted nineties.

Hugh Keevins has suffered more than most down the years, the oldest working reporter/pundit in Scottish football has taken it very personally that there is no longer an O** F*** splitting the trophies.

Being patronised by Ibrox managers gave him a special feeling of worth as he kept his Celtic leanings on the back burner.

Entering 2025 Celtic are the World’s Most Successful club going by the barometers of Keevins’ long term employers, the Tribute Act former by Charles Green are under threat from the New Firm of Dundee United and Aberdeen with the good old days gone forever.

Clement has turned out to be a massive let down, with one of those pesky Internet Bampots capturing the excitement of the early days of the Belgian that set pulses racing that Celtic’s domination was about to end.

Keevins said:

There is something very special brewing because of, exclusively because of Philippe Clement. I cannot imagine who would beat Rangers between now and the end of the season in terms of domestic competitions.

Hint: Try Motherwell, Ross County and Celtic.

They won’t win the European trophy because there are too many clubs bigger than them standing in their way, but, they’ll go beyond Benfica I think. However in a domestic context I don’t think that anyone could lay a glove on them just now.

And that’s why, we’re all long term football players, managers, football reporters. And I don’t think that anyone could make a case for anyone making a case for anybody other than Rangers winning the league.

It is the hope that utterly destroys them, feeding off the delusions of the Gullible support, sharing their hopes and aspirations.

CLIP 2: from League Cup Final 2023 as Clement celebrates as if it is the only trophy he’ll ever get near in Scottish football. 10 seconds

Keevins said:

I think that he had to do that Gordon, it begins to look as if you are trying to be grumpy for effect. He has let his emotions show and I think that people may have to get used to these celebrations because I think that this man is a serious manager and in the last four days he has gone last 16 in Europe, won a trophy and now has the whip-hand in the Premiership title race. This guy, I think is going to torment Celtic.

Clement and Keevins were celebrating again in April with a Moral Victory over Celtic, in August Hampden was the scene as A Proper Football Manager and his serial losers did The Bouncy in front of 200 Union Bears following a win over St Johnstone just days after being knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers by Dinamo Kiev.

Keevins certainly sounded as if the emotion of watching Clement lift a trophy was getting to him, a throwback to the glory days of Sir Walter, The Little Genital and Big Eck lifting trophies at Hampden as the anthems of hate bounded around the National Stadium.

These days he spends almost all Saturday afternoons tucked up in a Clydebank studio desperately hoping the Celtic/Rodgers/Postecoglou will fail so that his beloved O** F*** rivalry can be reinvented.

It has been a long wait, alongside big Derek Johnstone they tipped Mark Warburton to lift the 2016/17 SPFL title, the former City Trader was gone before the end of February.

With Celtic winning 20 out of the last 25 domestic trophies it might be some time before Keevins gets to share the thrill of watching a trophy heading towards Ibrox.

It is concerning to note how imbecilic Kew Heevins is. He has lost any ability to reason and is totally irrelevant and that’s what seems to get to him, making him come out with the most astonishing claims and statements. His irrelevance is encouraging his madness! He needs help.

That ancient nonsense of a so called pundit, should be used to predict the scores before every Scottish match?
Teams will be standing around the radio, praying that he doesn’t pick them for a victory, as wouldn’t be any point in even getting changed for the match ahead?
Might kill off Scottish football, but his bullshit over the years has hardly done anything to enhance it either?
For ourselves, whatever claims he makes regarding ourselves, the total opposite usually happens, to confirm he remains a big ancient eejit as always
