Kris Boyd has excelled himself by naming five of Phil Clement’s Galacticos in his SPFL Premiership team of the week including Jack Butland!
Winning 6-0 is always impressive, even against a team on the back of a defeat to Spartans but it is stretching it to leave six places to be split up between 11 other clubs in the Premiership.
Boyd as usual spent his Saturday afternoon playing the role of Village Idiot in the Sky Sports News studio, a role in which he is very much at ease as his lack of football knowledge and dubious command of English is highlighted by his colleagues.
Even by his own standards the inclusion of Butland is a stretch with the former Crystal Palace reserve back at the stadium where he decided the outcome of the Scottish Cup Final in May.
Most stats sites record four shots from Ross County with two of them on target, one save every 45 minutes was enough to earn Butland a place in oyd’s Team of the Week but it seems unlikely that it will convince any English side to bid £30m for the Ibrox ace.

In contrast to Butland, St Mirren ‘keeper Elery Balcome had a very busy afternoon against Celtic as the champions maintained their 100% start to the season, enjoying 76% possession against the Paisley side.
Celtic managed 21 shots on the St Mirren goal, eight on target with Balcombe unable to stop three as Boyd sat miserably on the Sky Sports gantry scanning through his favourite message boards.
After losing a third minute goal Balcombe put in an impressive display, organising his defence, blocking shots and looking comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Filling up his Premiership XI with Clement’s Champions League flops will provide Boyd with some comfort as the clock ticks down towards Sunday lunchtime in the place he likes least.
As well as thousands of Celtic fans questioning his weight and knowledge he’ll have a few uncomfortable hours alongside James McFadden and a former Celtic such as Stan Petrov or Neil Lennon.
Saturday’s Village Idiot from London is unlikely to be cracking many gags as he watches the Glasgow Derby from the sidelines, a situation he knows well from his so-called playing days. Butland is likely to be in for a busier day than against Ross County.
A Team wins 6. 0 but the goal keeper gets in team of the week? what the feck did he do, take the corners?
