Phil Clement celebrates with Union Bears after sickening attack

Around 7.30pm on Saturday Phil Clement decided to join his players with a spot of Da Dancing in front of the Union Bears.

About 5pm the Union Bears attacked a woman, knocking her to the ground to steal a drum before running off into the protection of the home fans at Hampden for the match against St Johnstone.

It was an incident in line with all known actions by the ‘Ultras’ group, last week they were confronting Asian shopkeepers in Polokshields in line with the recent far-right racist attacks and riots across England and Belfast.

Clement can’t plead innocence, Ultras culture is well known across the continent and is almost often politically linked.

Recently, especially since signing an extended contract the former Monaco boss has been expressing his love for all things Ibrox. He loves the club, the city, the supporters, on Friday he referenced the events of 2012 when Rangers went into administration and liquidation.

With such an in depth knowledge he will know the ideology of the Union Bears.

The group that sang The Famine Song while matching under Central Station Bridge with a Police escort in August 2021.

In December 2022 Police Scotland discovered a stash of weapons being kept inside the Broomloan Road Stand ahead of a match with Celtic.

In March and May 2021 the Union Bears led the carnage in and around George Square while Glasgow was on full lockdown.

Before the match with St Johnstone the Ibrox Ultras were upto their usual ‘antics’ hopefully CCTV will uncover the culprits.

That shame doesn’t seem to be haunting Clement as he celebrated after the match with the Union Bears, the Belgian has several social media accounts and hasn’t criticised the attack on the St Johnstone SLO or offered sympathy to the victim.

Equally there has been no comment or apology from Ibrox about the attack on a St Johnstone employee. On Saturday Ross County visit Hampden with the Union Bears expected to be given the usual red carpet treatment by the host club.

Yesterday the SFA were quick to contact BBC Scotland to justify the chain of events that allowed Cyriel Dessers to open the scoring, so far they have been on mute over a well publicised attack on a St Johnstone employee.

St Johnstone are back at Hampden/Ibrox on October 5.

As usual it will be reported as “football fans” assaulted the SLO.
It’s strange the media never have any difficulty in identifying any other groups that cause issues.

It might get narrowed down to ‘west of Scotland fans’ but unlikely that the gender of the SLO will feature in headlines.

The rangers hierarchy only seem to put out statements criticising others, such as the SFA and Dundee for example.

They very rarely apologise for fan behaviour which is wee club mentality. Hopefully the mutant gobshites who attacked the St Johnstone employee get a hefty fine and a lengthy ban from the game.

Don’t be holding your breath waiting for an apology from the rangers or their half wit manager 🙈🙈🙈
