It’s ugly, I told them to Shut Up! Hagi hits out at ‘Rangers’ over treatment of their best player

Gheorge Hagi has launched a brilliant attack on ‘Rangers’ as they try to force his son out of Murray Park.

Four years ago it was all sweetness and light as Ianis moved to Ibrox on loan from Genk followed by a permanent move with the Belgian side delighted to cut their losses.

The Ibrox PR machine and their media messengers milked the situation for all it was worth as Father and Sin gushed about how utterly wonderful things were at Ibrox with even a few motoring issues brushed aside.

Real Madrid, Manchester City and Galatasaray were all lining up big money moves to highlight the brilliance of the Ibrox Recruitment team for spotting the hidden ability of the Romanian midfielder.

After picking up a knee injury things turned sour for Hagi but Micky Beale sorted out a new contract for the crock which would put his wages up by £6,000 a week once he makes his 100th appearance in the Castore kit.

Hagi hit 99 appearances last season then went on loan to Alaves where his displays ensured that there would be no further interest from La Liga.

Phil Clement has completely blanked Hagi Junior with the Glasgow Times picking up on a scathing interview from his Dad about the way his superstar son is currently being treated.

Ianis isn’t coming back to Romania now. If he does ever come back, it will be to Farul Constanta. Forget what Rangers say, it’s what I say that counts.

He has a contract with Rangers first and what has happened with him at Rangers is a story…an ugly story from the people responsible.

It’s ugly. This is a player who went there when he was young, was their best player and then got injured.

He fought back and what happened? He’s training on his own or whoever he’s training with but when something like this happens in Western Europe, we are told, what claims do you have if you are from Romania?

Excuse me, what would I know? I played at the highest level even though I’m from Romania. At one point I just said to them ‘shut up.’ He won’t come here because he has proved he can be at Rangers. He was their best player.

Being the best player in front of Ryan Jack, John Lundstram, Nicky Raskin and Todd Cantwell really isn’t something that you want to put on your CV.

With two years left on a contract that is costing the Ibrox club £1.1m a year it looks like there will have to be a substantial pay off to get Hagi out the door before the transfer window closes on Friday night.

Players usually have to sign Non Disclosure Agreements before leaving, unfortunately Dad’s can’t be gagged so easily.
