A group of Glasgow workies have already put Celtic’s 2024 Scottish Cup Final triumph into song.
To the tune of the well loved ‘Oh You Cannae Shove Your Granny Aff A Bus’ known and loved by generations of kids, a few alterations have been made to celebrate one of the flashpoints from Saturday’s Hampden clash.
For over one minute there were scenes of joy in the blue half of the stadium as Abdallah Sima netted from close range, the first time that they had been in front of Celtic in five encounters.
Football these days is much changed from when your Granny stood on the terraces, watching from afar trying to work out why referees had given dubious goals against Celtic.
VAR has been in operation now for 19 months with John Beaton on duty to check that all was good and proper about Sima’s ‘goal’.
Alas the ball would never have reached on the on-loan Brighton forward if it hadn’t been for a push on Joe Hart by Nicky Raskin, the joyous celebrations were cut short because as every fan knows ‘You Cannae Shive Our Goalie In The Box’.
There was a booking for Hart for alerting referee Nick Walsh to the incident that he had missed, play restarted with the match goal-less and all to play for.

There was drama at the other end of the pitch in the 90th minute, with VAR unable to bail out Jack Butland from the biggest goalkeeping howler of the season.
As recently as last week the Daily Record was still beating the drum to get him into the England squad but after one visit to Ibrox Gareth Southgate named four ‘keepers better than the Ibrox hero.
There seemed to be little threat when Paulo Bernardo shot from 30 yards but Butland fumbled the shot, Adam Idah anticipated perfectly and shot under the advancing ‘keeper.
A VAR check revealed no offside, no pushing on the goalkeeper, 10 minutes later the final whistle blew with Hart and Idah lifting the club- with Glasgow workies likely to be celebrating all summer long.
