Celtic defender Gus Lagerbielke is reported to be a loan transfer target for Lecce.
A move to a mid-table side in Serie A with the prospect of regular football would appear to be ideal for the young Swede who has had an incredible six months. To call it a roller-coaster barely does it justice.
Carl Starfelt’s move to Celta Vigo surfaced at the start of the SPFL campaign with the same agent recommending that Celtic look to Elfsborg for a replacement.
Maik Nawrocki seemed to have been earmarked as Starfelt’s successor but a fee in the region of £3m was agreed to sign Lagerbielke as a bizarre chapter in his career kicked off.
His third match turned out to be in the September Glasgow Derby, there were plenty of gloomy predictions for the rookie pairing with Liam Scales but they emerged with a clean sheet as Celtic took the early initiative in the title race.
Following that Lagerbielke was sent off on his Champions League debut, dropped completely out of contention, scored the winner in Celtic’s first Champions League victory in over a decade then found himself further down the pecking order with Stephen Welsh and Nawrocki starting matches ahead of him.
For good measure there was a goal for Sweden against Moldova in October but it appears that a further chapter in Italy could be opening up.

Di Marzio reports:
Lecce’s idea is to take Lagerbielke on loan . Celtic have opened up to the operation but the costs for its success are significant. The negotiation is not simple but there was an initial survey.
With 1.8m Twitter followers Di Marzio has a well established reputation for having the right sources for breaking news stories.
If Celtic, as seems likely, agree to a loan deal it creates numerous questions about the scattergun approach to recruitment during the summer.
The emergence of Liam Scales has been the X-Factor in the season to date but a significant chunk of the summer expenditure went on back up central defenders with one looking halfway out the club and the other either third or fourth choice.
Despite expectations of a major player clear out this month there hasn’t yet been any confirmed movement in either direction despite the registration window opening more than a week ago.
