Celtic fans turn on TNT after broadcaster tries to troll over Champions League ‘record’

Someone in the TNT Social Media team has been harbouring a year long grudge.

Within minutes of the final whistle in Rome tonight the official broadcaster for UEFA was celebrating a little known and unrecognised record.

Yes Celtic have now gone 15 matches without a win since a famous night in Belgium when they won 3-0 away to Anderlecht.

It is a grim record but whatever happens in Matchday 6 at home to Feyenoord Celtic have a point on the board which is one more than the Ibrox Tribute Act managed last season as they went straight into the Champions League record books in their first ever campaign.

Six defeats including a 7-1 reverse to a shadow Liverpool side made Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side the worst ever in the 30 years of Champions League group football.

With a goal difference of two for and 22 against it was quite a campaign for the club which had tooled for the campaign by signing Rabbi Matondo, Ridvan Yilmaz, Ben Davies plus other stars including John Souttar and Tom Lawrence.

That campaign proved too much for the Ibrox board, as soon as van Bronckhorst passed one year in charge he was sacked and hasn’t worked since as he drains the club with his monthly salary.
