Bears left baffled as messengers struggle for good news

Ten days after finally getting rid of Micky Beale Ibrox fans are still in the dark about who’ll be picking up on the carnage left behind by the former QPR boss.

This week Birmingham City have sacked John Eustace and installed Wayne Rooney as manager.

Beale is off in the sunshine enjoying a family holiday with plenty of Nutella and convincing himself that everyone else was to blame for his masterplan crashing and burning after just seven SPFL Premiership matches.

As ever with matters associated with the Blue Room leaks are springing out everywhere as different factions try to control the message while others try and put two and two together to pretend that they are in the know.

Yesterday afternoon PLZ were tweeting that Philippe Clement was jetting in to Glasgow to sign his four year contract, this morning they had Andy Devlin of The Sun on the sofa explaining that the Ibrox board was split on the appointment with Kevin Muscat probably the slight favourite.

At lunchtime today Ange Postecoglou’s former number 2 was guiding Yokohama F Marinos to a over Urawa Red Diamonds in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final. Muscat appears to be in no rush to quit Yokohama knowing that the success of the Spurs boss is putting him in contention for a move to England where he played for Wolves and Millwall.

Mixed messages are coming out about Clemente and Muscat, sending big Jonny McFarlane into a flap trying to reassure bears that everything is running smoothly, just as he did during the summer as he applied top spin to each of Beale’s maginificent signings.
